  1. Energy Bliss Visualization Plugin by Microsoft Corporation and Averett & Associates The ultimate viz companion for Windows Media Player 10! (Also works for Windows Media Player 11). Easily turn album artwork and track information ON/OFF by clicking once on the right side of the viz window. If turned off, this info is still accessible by hovering your cursor over the area. Website The Energy Bliss Visualization FAQ Screenshot How to select Energy Bliss within WMP (after installation) MD5:76C64F03B389CAB1B17905F134C9F1D3 Size: 530kb === Alternate Version === I have added Registry tweak to Set Energy Bliss as default Visualization. There is no need to select Energy Bliss after installation. (If you have downloaded earlier, please replace with this version instead) MD5: D06BA4CD64960A77FA2E4A7A64B92C12 Size: 535kb
  2. Just to get back to you a little more... Tested your latest builder , profile folder able to show, able to build silent installer type (I'm using version 2.0.0.16). When tested the silent installer, able to restore bookmark but none of my 28 extensions get installed. I guess my profile folder does not have any extension. They are all stored in %programfiles%\Mozilla Firefox\extensions. This is because I use batch file to install all 28 extensions with command Firefox.exe -install-global-extension I guess your builder does not look at the -install-global-extension folder. But it is okay for me. I can always re-use back my batch file to install.
  3. U are right. My VM had no internet connection. I didn't know it requires internet connection to work. I will try it again when I have the time. Thanks
  4. Audigy, Just tested actual install at T13, doesn't work. But it can close the notepad readme. (I will not do any T/s or fine tuning the script since you are already using autoit) For the benefit of any user reading this post, kindly do not download and add into your built. Code I'm using is HotKeySet("^!x", "MyExit");the script to exit when CTRL+ALT+x is pressed Tooltip ( "Installing CachemanXP", 200, 420 ) Run ("setup.exe /S") WinWait ("Readme.txt - Notepad","README for Outertech") WinClose ("Readme.txt - Notepad","README for Outertech") ;WinWait ("CachemanXP - unregistered","Toolbar") <-- during XP setup testing, this screen does not show up. But it show up during normal installation. ;WinClose ("CachemanXP - unregistered","Toolbar") <-- during XP setup testing, this screen does not show up. But it show up during normal installation. ProcessWaitClose ( "setup.exe" ) Func MyExit() Exit EndFunc You should consider Kelsenellenelvian's suggested method. If it works, it is much easier than Autoit. Good luck
  5. I'm using autoit to install. Tested on XP host with standard notepad as default text editor. Works ok. Please see how it goes into actual install. If you have other text editor slipstreamed, just ensure it slipstream later than this addon. (An numbered index addon always helps, such as 001cachemanXP_Addon.cab will install earlier than 003Notepad++_addon.cab) Limited hosting period (30 days if no download) MD5: AA229C78C2CBA80D3FADB007FA75DBEC If somehow script hangs at T13 during installation, the hotkey to exit the script is CTRL+ALT+x
  6. I did not have the first log you want as I deleted the Virtual PC image. But I tried it again with another new image. Still observed %appdata% folder is hidden. I had to unhide it manually first. Then I can get pass the profile folder selection stage. Now, thing seems to stop responding at "Copying Personal Files . . ." stage. (any idea how long this stage usually takes?) A check shown the Addon (empty folder) & bin folder are created, along with log folder. Please see my log file. Thanks
  7. Thanks for the input. I'm just wondering if I have made some wrong input, causing unexpected behaviour. From the videoshot, am I suppose to navigate to my profile folder or the Firefox program folder? Just a sudden thought: It would be useful (for 1st time user) if you can made screenshot explaning what each screen you would expect the user to give correct input (to avoid any unexpected input) or videoshot showing how to use your firefox builder. You can take a look here. (see item 155) It is a vbs code you may consider in unhiding folders/files. (not sure will work in Vista). If I manage to build the addon successfully, as it is uninstallable, does it mean also this version can't be update online when newer version is available? If it can be updated online, will it still remain uninstallable? As far as I know, some extensions are not compatible for newer version when performing online update. Can these extensions be uninstall if found not compatible? If cannot uninstall automatically, anyway to uninstall manually? Sorry for asking so many questions.
  8. Out of curiosity, I tested on VPC and I got into an endless loop prompting me to select probably my profile folder. Unfortunately, I hit 'enter' at the question and it opens a file dialog box, expecting me to browse to \Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla etc. The folder is hidden from view by default. Hence unable to browse to the intended folder. Pressing cancel button repeatingly doesn't help stopping the "file open dialog box" . I had to process close it. Attached is a quick videoshot. http://www.uploading.com/files/V2FAV0WK/LoopError.7z.html Perhaps you would like to unhide this folder prior to selecting the profile folder, for easier selection.
  9. Forgot to mention that 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\HTTP\shell\open\command' was created after I launch Firefox for the first time. (along with many other new registry keys in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes). HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\HTTP\shell\open\command will not be created if FF is installed by others and I (the current user) have not started FF for the first time. I also need to agree to set as default browser when prompt by Firefox. At least that's what my machine shows. Nevertheless, since you got it tested and default browser changes occurs in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\http\shell\open\command, I suppose it is okay. Just be aware that some machines may have default browser setting store in HKCU. If getting too unpredictable, suggest 3rd party tool to preset default bowser as IE. When installation is over, have it reset the browser back to old setting. (have not tried it through) http://www.snapfiles.com/get/defaultbrowser.html An article here possible says both of us could be right. BTW, where can I download the DivX installer?
  10. Glad that modifying the code works for you. If firefox is installed, then you will see "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\HTTP\shell\open\command" key as it is created by firefox during installation. Otherwise it is just as you mention: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\http\shell\open\command Try changing the default browser to Firefox and see if "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\http\shell\open\command" value changes. (I believe it still stay as IE)
  11. .uif and .daa are very much like proprietary format (like .RAR format). 3rd party program can read it but cannot edit. There is a small tool daa-to-iso converter that you might be of interest. (Not tried yet through) http://w-shadow.com/blog/2007/12/27/free-d...-converter-gui/
  12. Although not sure if this will work, you can give it a try at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Streams\Desktop and look for 'TaskbarWinXP' key What I know is that it enables your Quick launch taskbar.
  13. Just to share... My MB is defective (a few capacitors corroded), DVD-drive defective & system fan performance intermittent. Sent PC to workshop, ask me to change out MB & DVD drive. Done. Bring back PC. Can power up for 1 day. Next day, cannot startup at all. No power to the PC. I wonder why. Bring the PC to same workshop and was told PC went into thermo-protection. Now PSU, CPU & MB also dead. In the end, change again PSU + CPU + MB + RAM + system fan. Now working fine. Now looking back, if system fan has been changed at the first instance, maybe my Cpu will not get into thermo-protection state.
  14. Forgot to post the link for PE bart disc. Terribly sorry. PE Builder There is another recovery CD you can made which I forgot to mention, REATOGO I have built these two versions but I perfer PE Bart Disc as it is more flexible in term of adding your own program. No need to install on host PC to get the plugin. Most of the plugin are created by 3rd party authors. PE Bart disc can work on XPSP2. It will not work if your source is XPSP3 or updated SP2 as PE Builder is a rather old program (around yr 2006. Precisely is Feb 17, 2006). Stick to a clean XPSP2 (Preferably SP1 splistreamed into SP2) source. REATOGO 3rd party program generally requires you to have the program already installed on host PC before the program can be generated. (so called the program addon). Example, if you wish to have OpenOffice added into REATOGO, you must have OpenOffice already installed on the PC. The plugin are actually cmd script designed to generate a compatible set of files so that REATOGO understands how to slipstream into it. Easier for 1st timer but avail cmd script is limited. (CMD script can be downloaded from the program UI). Good luck.
  15. Looks like it is a bit late as I just stumble your post. Have you tried PE bart disc? It is a very handy bootable disc to recover existing data off from an unbootable system (Unbootable in term of system OS crash/corrupted only. Not hardware failure). Beside, you can custom-built it (All programs addon are purely inf-base, which you already know). Support USB devices, which makes it attractive. BTW, ATI (Acronis True Image) only works when there is an existing image already created in separate partition or external hdd. It can't save existing data when system files are too corrupted. Of course, these are just my opinion.
  16. RegEditX makes your registry editing more productive than ever. RegEditX extends the standard Windows Registry Editor (REGEDIT), so you don't have to learn new ways of accomplishing tasks you already know how to perform. Just keep using the same familiar Registry Editor --- more efficiently. RegEditX 2.0 BETA by David Ching (Microsoft MVP) Website: http://www.dcsoft.com/products/regeditx/ Changelog:
  17. So basically you need a mini-script that can detect default browser (either FF or IE). Here is my code, which I think can integrated into your Divx setup script #cs This script test whether default browser is IE or Firefox base on current user setting. This is also my first time using StringRegExp & StringRight. So if I code it poorly, forgive me. The registry that store the default browser is HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\http\shell\open\command Test 1: To actually test the code, say, you set firefox as default browser. Launch firefox. Also launch IE. So you have 2 browsers launched. Since you actually set firefox as default browser, you would expect Firefox browser to procesclose when winwait matches, without procesclose IE. Run this script to see the effect. Test 2: Now set IE as default browser. Launch Firefox as well. Double check HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\http\shell\open\command has IEXPLORE.EXE as part of string Run the script. Expected result would be Internet Explorer closed, keeping firefox on the desktop. You may like to fine tune the script according to your circumstance #ce $varF = RegRead("HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\http\shell\open\command", ""); Read what is the string found in this key $varFF = StringRight ( $varF ,45 ); count the last 45 char from the right. 45 is needed for Firefox string. $varFFF = StringRegExp ($varFF, "firefox.exe", 1 );compare the 45 char against a search string Firefox.exe MsgBox(64, "My default Browser is", $varFF); output visually for user to see the string. This line can be disabled for actual run. After testing complete successfully MsgBox(64, "Show output of string regular expression", $varFFF); output is 0, indicating what is the control code. This line can be disabled for actual run. ;======= Place your DivX installer code here ==== if $varFFF=0 then WinWait("Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage - Windows Internet Explorer","Favorites Command Ba") ProcessClose ("IEXPLORE.EXE") else WinWait("Problem loading page - Mozilla Firefox","") ProcessClose ("firefox.exe") endif
  18. export your registry key as if it is a registry tweak your key are store in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Ashampoo\Ashampoo FireWall look for 'key', with your own serial
  19. I got this thing made but looking at it, looks like you need permission to distribute /dl I'm keeping this program for my own use. Looks cool.
  20. There can only be 1 browser which will be launched. Usually it is IE However, if you think there are 2 possible browsers to be launch, then just pause the script for browser to self-launch, then close both iexplorer.exe & firefox.exe Sleep (3000); you can adjust the time. Must be longer so that sufficient time is given for the installer to self-launch the browser ProcessClose ("IEXPLORE.EXE") ProcessClose ("FIREFOX.exe") Alternatively, going by your given code: WinWait("Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage - Windows Internet Explorer","Favorites Command Ba") ProcessClose ("IEXPLORE.EXE") ; <---New line to close Internet Explorer process. Just like you close process in task manager
  21. Give it a try [CPL] PC Wizard 2008. After all, they serve the same purpose. And it is already made. http://www.wincert.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=3816
  22. Yes, this is only necessary if you are logged into your machine as an administrator (which generally what majority of home user do)

SaferFirefox.exe is set to run in Constrained mode Shortcut is Start->All Programs ->Mozilla Firefox -> Safer Firefox It is intended to add to your existing Firefox svcpack. 1)Pls unpack your existing Firefox addon program 2)Put the downloaded SaferFireFoxSI.exe into the svcpack folder (SaferFireFoxSI.exe is also Silent switchless type) 3) Edit your entries_Firefox_or_something.ini with [AddProgram] Firefox-2015.exe <-- This is my existing entry. You may have different names. SaferFireFoxSI.exe <--- Add New entry (Must be after Firefox-2015.exe line, not before) 4) Repack back the whole package into original form Other: If you have Firefox already installed, just run SaferFireFoxSI.exe to install. Additional info: Q. How do you know that Firefox is running in reduced privilege? A: Well, Start SaferFirefox thru the start Menu. Try saving this webpage in C:\ or C:\Program Files or C:\Windows or C:\Windows\System32 If you get a warning message, asking you to save to My Documents instead, then Firefox is running in reduced privilege. (which also means spyware can't infect your critical system directory) Note: It will also block registry writing to HKLM if any (but not HKCU). However, if you are installing Firefox extensions, then don't run in Reduced privilege. (Note: DropMyRights does not works on Vista)
