biatche Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 (edited) Are there any possible implications by not having the full .net installer saved on the hdd? There's nothing for me to stay true to, just a matter of practicality of which saves space, does the job (quicker), and cause no problem. My question for this is, there are times in XP where when some files are missing, it looks for the installer and if the installer is missing (such as when they were on an old share), it'd give a popup looking for the installer. Given there are no implications, the slim is of course the best way to go. Sorry to complicate simple matters, but it's good for me to know. Thanks! Edited May 15, 2013 by biatche Quote
ricktendo Posted May 15, 2013 Author Posted May 15, 2013 No issues, you get the FULL framework/functionality in both cases...slimming only breaks netfx repair and install/uninstall GUI Quote
Mr_Smartepants Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 (edited) Rick, I notice you don't list KB2804582. Is that because it is replaced by a newer patch? It's showing a release date of yesterday.http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2836440 Resolves a vulnerability in the Microsoft .NET Framework that could allow identity spoofing on a client system.2804582 MS13-040: Description of the security update for the .NET Framework 4.5 on Windows 7 Service Pack 1, Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1, Windows Vista Service Pack 2, and Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2: May 14, 2013http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2804582 If it's superseded, which update replaces it?Thanks! ricktendo Posted May 16, 2013 Author Posted May 16, 2013 My bad...I rebuilt installer with the SFX from the x86 only installer. Currently uploading proper installers For the time being you can try and extract the installers and run: Setup.exe /x86 /x64 abbodi1406 1 Quote

Yventaliy Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 After installing the .NET Framework [Rebuilt] 4.5 Full x 86/x 64 (5/16/2013),the program requires CD with netfx_FullLP_x64..This function is not needed. Quote
ricktendo Posted May 17, 2013 Author Posted May 17, 2013 @Thiersee make sure you have the latest version by checking the MD5, if they dont match re-download @Yventaliy I am not sure I understand what you mean exactly by "requires CD" Quote
Yventaliy Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 After installing dotNetFx45_Full_x86_x64_Repack.exe, Setup prompts you to install the language pack that is not desired. Quote

Thiersee Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 @Thiersee make sure you have the latest version by checking the MD5, if they dont match re-downloadI use the slim version with language packs (80.5 MB), not the rebuilt; the download is from 14.05.2013 and there is no newer! Quote
