sp0iledbrat Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 (edited) All drivers I'm testing with at the moment integrate successfully, apart from this monitor driver for LG 192WS. Is there a reason it won't integrate?I have also attached the driver if necessary.Thank youL192WS.7z Edited December 5, 2012 by sp0iledbrat Quote
amaltom61 Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Its the first time i see a driver for a monitor(all types).I thought graphic cards only needed drivers Quote
bphlpt Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Sometimes a driver is provided to be able to access a monitor's unique, special features, but the driver is very rarely truly "needed".Cheers and Regards Quote
sp0iledbrat Posted December 3, 2012 Author Posted December 3, 2012 They may be uncommon, but there is also one for the Dell monitor I'm using at the moment Quote
compstuff Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 I always use a driver if the monitor has one especially if the native resolution is non-standard Quote
bphlpt Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 So, does anyone have any idea why sp0iledbrat's driver did not integrate?Cheers and Regards Quote
Mr_Smartepants Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 (edited) It didn't integrate because it's not a driver. A driver consists of a .inf file combined with a .sys and possibly .dll files. It's an Image Color Management (ICM) file used for color correction.http://en.wikipedia....olor_management Edited December 5, 2012 by Mr_Smartepants Quote
Thiersee Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 My "driver" EV2333W (Eizo-Monitor) integrates perfectly. After installation the ICM-File is under Color Mangement. Quote
sp0iledbrat Posted December 5, 2012 Author Posted December 5, 2012 It didn't integrate because it's not a driver. A driver consists of a .inf file combined with a .sys and possibly .dll files. If this is the thing, I'm fine with that. I do remember adding ICM profiles for monitor and webcam drivers with nLite and there were never problems.Oh, well, it is what it is. I'm marking it solved. Quote
