I currently have Windows 7 Ultimate SP 1 and 425 updates installed plus some other updates.

I also have .Net 4.5 installed and its 4 updates(KB2759112,KB2756203,KB2748645,KB2745582).

So do i need to install the updates for .Net Framework 3.5.1 (it is showing up on the list of updates to download in the windows updates thingy)

Yes. .NET 3.5.1 is separate from .NET 4.5. .NET 4.5 replaces .NET 4.0, but not any of the other versions of .NET.

.net 3.5 is shipped with win7 (windows 6.1) so .net 3.5 updates are considered as Windows Updates.

I knew that, but this threw me:

I guess the question should be exactly which updates are showing up in the "windows updates thingy"?

There is only one update showing in windows update--KB2729452

KB2604115, KB2656356, KB2656373-v2, KB2656411, KB2686831, KB2729452 (in this sequence).

The updates , KB2656356,KB2656373-v2,KB2656411,KB2686831 says that it is not applicable to this computer!!!!

Updates KB2729452 KB2604115 were installed sucessfully
