Legolash2o Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Just thought I would let you know that my MediaFire account has been suspended so the only official download source it from WinCert. I have contacted MediaFire asking why and if they can unlock it.Apparently I have been getting a lot of DMCA requests despite the fact that I am the owner of the Win Toolkit files on there :/ Quote
mooms Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 I had also a DMCA blabla about a CPU driverpack which supposedly violed the copyright of some asian VPC pornsite (wtf!).Have mailed mediafire, never answered. It's only one way with them....Good luck with them anyway ! Quote
Legolash2o Posted December 14, 2012 Author Posted December 14, 2012 Yeah i checked the links which they where supposed to have gotten them from and it also ended up being a porn site :/ Quote
ElmerBeFuddled Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 I've also had DMCA's, for uploading an old version of Windows Live that everyone was clamouring for at the time. Some system files I'd made containing all the icons I'd made (which is still on dA) and, can you believe this one, a folder icon!!All I can say is it's a good job I've still got the Live.exe file tucked away elsewhere!! And how would you get DMCA as you created Win Toolkit-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I have a almost 3 years old software called Windows 7 Toolkit. It was created by orbit30 corporation with an web adress to www.win7vista.com .Now there is no information about it in the internet. All the details about that app vanished from the internet.I first found out about your toolkit when i was searching the web for an updated version of windows 7 toolkit. It also contains a activation crack for windows 7 which actually never worked. The site www.win7vista.com is just a forum. There is no details about this app on the site. The size is 44.6 mb when compresed in rar format Quote
monkee Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Sorry to hear that, Lego. I actually love Mediafire as to me are one of the most reliable store-and-download sites. Never thought they'd be making problems to users through Asian porn sites. Heh..Hope it all gets sorted out soon. Quote
ricktendo Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 I use dropbox to not use Mediafire so much and this is what happens This email is an automated notification from Dropbox that your Public links have been temporarily suspended for generating excessive traffic. Your Dropbox will continue to function normally with the exception of Public links. This suspension is temporary (3 days for the first time). Please visit Dropbox support if you have any questions. - The Dropbox Team Quote
mooms Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 I'm trying sendpace right now, they have a 300 MB size limit per file for free users (200 for Mediafire) and you can upload and share without registering, like Mediafire before. Or you could just create a new Mediafire account.... Quote
crashfly Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 I am sure there are quite a few places that could possibly host the file, but most are not necessarily "easy" with the terms. Maybe asking the wincert site admins to allow a separate download for the "beta" WinToolKit would be in order. Just remember that WinToolKit was one of the original reasons why I donated to wincert. I hope this site never goes down. Quote
bphlpt Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 (edited) Nik seems committed, to both Wincert and Win Toolkit. And Liam also has had someone else donate FTP space for him to use as well, so I think all is good now. Cheers and Regards Edited December 21, 2012 by bphlpt Quote
NIM Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Maybe asking the wincert site admins to allow a separate download for the "beta" WinToolKit would be in order. This is no problem at all. If it will be needed, Lego will contact me. He also needs to test new FTP account/site he got. Quote
