Posted June 20, 201311 yr I can't connect to McRip's update servers with WinToolkit, but I believe I know why and I wanted to share a work-around for anyone else affected. I believe McRip won't accept connections from my IP address. I use Shaw Communications in British Columbia, Canada as my ISP. I suspect he did that to deal with whoever was attacking his site some months ago. You will know if you have the same problem if your Internet works with all other sites, but when you point your browser to http://hotfix2.cesidian.info/ you get no response at all (page doesn't load). If you get the 'NO ACCESS!' page, you do not have this problem. My work-around is to connect to a VPN service prior to running WinToolkit for updates. I used http://bestcanadavpn.com/ but I'm sure other services will work also. Clark.
July 22, 201311 yr Interesting... that seems to be what is happening here... will try a VPN or bouncing off another ISP or something. Thanks for the heads up!
July 23, 201311 yr I'm in Québec Canada with Videotron and http://hotfix2.cesidian.info/ doesn't work.
July 31, 201311 yr The website can't be browsed by anyone. It will only let Win Toolkit and some other tool look at the contents. At the moment it's not even working for me in Win Toolkit.
August 1, 201311 yr It hasnt been working for me in wintoolkit for the past week or so... anyone know why?
May 13, 20159 yr VPN is a great tool to use for your anonymity. I suggest to all try different VPN provider to connect the websites.
