Twisted Mind Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and WTK so first, I'd like to say thank you for this really cool and useful piece of software: Thank you ;-) Working with winSIM turns out to be nice when you're creating an (auto-)unattend.xml but turns out to be quite a mess when you're trying to integrate drivers... And that's why I'm posting right now: I have created an autounattend.xml with RT7lite, WTK and winSIM all merged together and it's doing it's job quite fine. All settings are applied as I want then and setup finishes succesfully. Unfortunately, the setup does not install my drivers at all - and I don't get a clue why! I have integrated them using the All-in-One Integrator and it takes hours to recompress the install.wim so they obviously have to be integrated. Still, Windows doesn't even try to install them. Can someone please give me a hint what to do to make this work? Thx in advance,-twistedmin Quote
ricktendo Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 How did you get/back up the drivers to integrate? I suggest you use a driver backup program or back them up manually by going to "C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository" (sort folder by date) and copy your drivers for integration later Quote

They prodive an "Enterprise Management Package" which provides all drivers for win7 x64 in a nice folder/subfolder structure - please take a look at my attached screenshot. ricktendo Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Yea the chipset drivers look good, but are the rest also in INF format? What you need to do is install all those drivers on a live system and back up the INF/SYS/DLL's, use a driver backup tool or do it manually as I suggest above You cannot integrate drivers that are in EXE form Quote
Twisted Mind Posted August 20, 2013 Author Posted August 20, 2013 Hello again, Lenovo provides all drivers as .INF files and WTK recognizes 219 of them in my drivers directory - please see my new screenshot with some examples. I still don't get it: Do I have to somehow trigger the installation? None of my integrated drivers are installed by WTK/Windows Setup. Quote
ricktendo Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Yea, looks fine to me. I see the broadcom bluetooth, ricoh card readers, intel MEI, intel chipset drivers instegrated fine Quote
Twisted Mind Posted August 28, 2013 Author Posted August 28, 2013 Hi guys, based on this threat (http://www.wincert.net/forum/topic/11462-does-wt-has-driver-number-limitation/) I assume I broke the "max number of drivers"-law of Windows Driver Store. I am going to create a new install.wim without driver integration and create images for each type of computer I need to image. This is a temporary work-around before we start using FrontRange DSM anyway, so I am not going to investigate further. Thanks for you help! My threat may be closed now. Quote
