billybully Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Well, if you're still interested, I reduced a 64-bit Windows 7 SP1 ISO to just 697 MB (I could have reduced it even more, because I didn't optimized the boot.wim). And it works like a charm. amomp3 1 Quote

J.J. Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 HI all, sry for waiting. The Problem is... ...there are so many Files, Drivers etc. with no Description so i don't know: "Can i Delete this files" or "Should they Stay"A long time ago i've build a lite Version of Vista? i think so. But it was not so good still about 2-3GBAnd the Second Version doesnt work. Now i've searched the whole Internet for this but i didnt found anything about Extreme Lite Tutorials or other Stuff...I too searched the internet (not the whole internet) and found these the absolutely MOST helpful...http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/157337-rt-7-lite-components-removal-explanation/http://winreducer.lebonforum.com/t6-components-to-keephttp://winreducer.lebonforum.com/t259-components-to-keep-now-color-coded-for-convenience After the past couple weeks of trial & errror I finally am running my "lite" version. I wanted as much removed as possible without losing ANY funtionality with the exception of Backup & Restore (I handle my own backup and restore images (Acronis). I built onto the Color Coded List that "Phsmu" from the WinReducer forum created. Here is my finished product of explanations for each component...http://www8.zippyshare.com/v/75299650/file.html (It was too long to copy & paste) If theres a better way to show this information, let me know of feel free to repost it. Tuesday77 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 (edited) Im on such project at the moment. But its hard to find out what u realy need what not.U have to know that with any u remove also the support for some other also removed. For the moment i can give u some files (past work, may problems)((Do the RT7Lite one renamed as .inf instead of .ini)) Update:I remember iv create ones, example a working Win7 Image u can burn on CD (700MB size) Update2:If u really need just a system with working browser, the size can be decreased on 500MB i think. But for sure, any support for any programs are destroyed.. Example: Winsxs, u can delete the folder, but u can got problems with idiotic/old programmed apps or some MS/.NET apps. But for my system i can live withouth the winsxs, so i remove it allways, the full winsxs, nut just /backup. systemsize = /2 ^^ Edited February 4, 2014 by BrokenZer0 Quote
