munkyhead86 Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 (edited) Hello,I am trying to create a custom USB with Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 setup.I was successful in the creation of the 7 and 8 USB, which installed just fine, allowing me to activate post-installation. Now I am trying to add 8.1 to the mix. I've obtained the VL ISO, which installs without requesting a key during installation. When I added it to the mix - my USB became a W8.1 installation USB: it requests a key to install, and I am no longer being given the option to choose the OS I'd like to install. I am using WinToolkit. Please tell me what am I missing. The end-goal for me is to have a USB that allows me to install custom versions of Windows 7, 8 and 8.1, without bothering me with a key during installation. RicaNeaga Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Weird. Are you using some kind of autounattended .xml file, with install options, that you add to the windows 8.1 iso via Win Toolkit? Quote
munkyhead86 Posted November 13, 2013 Author Posted November 13, 2013 I keep the W8.1 installation unchanged. I tweaked 7 and 8 for my purposes, but haven't done anything to the 8.1 image. Quote
Kelsenellenelvian Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 then there is a ei.cfg file gumming up the works from 8.1 Quote
munkyhead86 Posted November 18, 2013 Author Posted November 18, 2013 I have solved it. The solution was to CREATE an empty ei.cfg file (with default values) - it works fine now. Quote
