Tommy_John Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Sure could us some help.I can't seem to get updates not sure if this is me or a server issue. I open the program.......click on the main tab.......click on Update catalog. When I do that i get and error that tells me " Neither KUC or Mcrip update servers seem to active" I have internet ok and No Proxy server. Do I need to activate something first? I have version 1.4.1.27 Quote
Kelsenellenelvian Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Nope their servers are closed. No-one supported them and they kept getting hot linked so they stopped. There is NO dedicated server anymore. Quote
wela Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 FYI McRip is back. In his blog he announced updated Files in the next few days. Quote
Etz Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 FYI McRip is back. In his blog he announced updated Files in the next few days. Checked Mcrip blog, there is no such info... Quote
Thiersee Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 His announcement is under comments here http://mcripblog.cesidian.info/2013/09/mcripsystemfiles-2020130921.html#comment-form, almost at the end of the list. Quote
stsaerox Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 I've tried to search and I end up in this: http://windows-update-checker.com/ for KUC. Quote
RicaNeaga Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Until McRip is back, here you can download archives that are up-to-date with all the needed security updates AND hotfixes (for windows 7 SP1 images) Quote
janrockt Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 McRip will not come back: http://mcripblog.cesidian.info/2013/11/mcripsystemfiles-2020131116.html?showComment=1384789259886#c333775800980603050I guess I will work with your archives or maybe WSUS Offline Update from now on.What are your plans regarding the monthly Patchdays? Will there be big packs month by month or maybe smaller update packs? In any case: Thank you very much! Quote
RicaNeaga Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Didn't know that, thank you for confirming. I'll update it every month (the complete archive) until another ''open-source'' alternative is online. I don't recommend KUC for offline integrations (especially with Win Toolkit), only for online (live) installs. Also KUC isn't up-to-date, last it was updated in october. alfreire and crashfly 2 Quote
compstuff Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Too bad... I would gladly pay a subscription but frankly I doubt donations would ever work longtermNope their servers are closed. ricktendo Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 They are working on a update list that links directly to MS servers, if Liam comes back then you can expect a update Quote
bphlpt Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 They are working on a update list that links directly to MS servers, ... I have been suggesting this for a while. Now we'll just need to set it up such that one guy isn't saddled with the burden of maintaining it. Then there will be less of a likelihood of another burnout. Cheers and Regards Quote
janrockt Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Is there more information available? Who is involved, what are they planning to do? Quote

ccl0 Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 (edited) hey mooms, i'm curious what is the difference between the one from steven4554 and yours? http://www.wincert.net/forum/topic/10811-14-novembre-2013-packs-de-maj-gdr-pour-windows-7-sp1/ in the past i would just use WUD with the file from steven4554. i don't really know much about it or the differences or similarities between the two Edited November 26, 2013 by ccl0 Quote
mooms Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Mine contains updates requested by Windows Update, no less no more. I don't know exactly the differences with steven4554' UL, but last time I checked (it was some months ago) it contained some updates that are not in my packs and vice-versa. I know these UL does not offer WUA update for example. alfreire 1 Quote

I tried other people's updates and needed just the required updates for Windows 7 for faster integration and less bloat. Thanks to Mooms, I'm now able to create a smaller up-to-date image with enough room to add all the driverpacks needed for my hardware. Everything fits perfectly on one DVD. Thanks again Mooms for your work!
