Thiersee Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Both are on my "sh!t list" anyways btw. KB2990214 doesn't show up anymore in WU.And the biggest "sh!t" is that everytime the version for a hidden update has changed, it appears again on WU, no matter if have hidden the KB! Quote
I let KB2990214 in the script until next update patch as I did for KB3050265. These updates are still asked by WU in my test VMs. Edited August 5, 2015 by rhahgleuhargh Quote

I think WU asks for KB2952664 but not only this one!) sometimes as optional (this time was a "minor" version), sometimes as important (last time, change from -v12 to -v13). Anyway I noticed that WU asks for the same update if his version has changed, even if that update has been hidden (for example W10-related KBs). Thiersee Edited August 6, 2015 by Thiersee Quote
Quote

rhahgleuhargh Posted August 12, 2015 Author Posted August 12, 2015 (edited) @Thiersee,I had a look on every update oon WUC website and deleted a lot of KBs.For KB3078601, it wasn't asked on my old config, but since it replaces some old updates I added it to ULs. test in x86 machine is on line.I think I'll make my legal W10 upgrade this week-end, activate it, and then reformat for a new brand Windows 7 config. It will make my ULs updates easier. Edited August 12, 2015 by rhahgleuhargh Quote

Thiersee Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 (edited) I just started the installation, where KB3078601 is asked, and will install one after the other all the KBs I did not install (replaced by KB3078601).If WU asks again for it, could be it's for the RunOnce. BTW, on my working PC it has not been asked, only new installation. Edited August 12, 2015 by Thiersee Quote

I downloaded the KB with the link in Bulletin MS15-080 at the top, in the Summary; To the MS-Bulletin I went with this link The two links to the MS-Download-Center (Download Method 2) are on my opinion wrong, because they redirect to KB3045685 (Bullettin MS15-038 from April 2015)! rhahgleuhargh Posted August 12, 2015 Author Posted August 12, 2015 Yes with Windows Update Catalog link all is fine. Quote
Thiersee Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 The problem is, in this case, not wich way to the info you choose (both MS- & Update-Catalog are the same), but the link you choose in the info:through the bulletin (in the summary) you get KB3078601, through the direct download (download method 2, in the same info!) you get KB3045685 and this is definetly wrong.
