rhahgleuhargh
Hello,I desinstalled these KBs on my VM, but now M$ mark some of them as "important" (KB3035583 and KB3021917, KB2952664 for x86).I'll make a new test with new updates on a new machine, result later !
Updates :KB2990214 KB2990214This is the Windows 10 Technical Preview itself !!!Re KB3035583, KB3021917 and KB2952664, these still showed up as optional for me, as did KB2990214, and I have chosen to simply hide them. Regardless of how MS classifies them, they are not needed.Cheers and Regards
rhahgleuhargh
@bphlpt,OOps, missed that KB2990214 was Windows 10 (I haven't hide the other KBs on my real machine). Previous post edited. In my case, some of these KB were asked as important updates, but I uninstalled them just before reboot. I need to try an integration without them.Correction has been done for optional KBs in ULs, I just need to copy the new links and make tests in a brand new VM. bphlpt
KB2990214 (Windows 10 Preview for those who have installed KB2952664, KB3021917, and KB3035583) I was offered KB2990214 as an optional update even though I had not installed KB2952664, KB3021917, and KB3035583. [They were also offered as optional at the same time.] I declined and hid them all. I usually wait until a week or two after "patch Tuesday" to install any updates at all. In the meantime, I read your thread here, and others here at WinCert and at MSFN, to see what you and others have discovered regarding MS's latest antics. Thank you very much for your hard work in investigating the updates and their interactions. By the way, like Alpha_95, I am also offered KB3037581. Also, I have been avoiding updating Skype for Windows desktop 7.0. (An update for it was "optional" up until yesterday) Now, I'm being offered KB2876229 and now they are calling it "important". I'm not sure why it's importance has changed. Since I don't use Skype, I haven't decided whether I will update it or not.Cheers and Regards
rhahgleuhargh
Mais oui, cette mise à jour m'a été proposée.@bphlpt,You have a great idea to wait one week for installing updates. I should to this for the next time (since last WU bugs I'm waiting a few days to upload updated ULs). rhahgleuhargh
Thiersee
Hi, I finished today for tests (1x x86, 3x x64) in VM; I did hide the updates for Win10 (but not KB2952664) and I didn't got any request by WU.After a DeepClean, it requested again KB3021952. Before I forget it:I used the UL from 27 march, deleted the superseded and added the new KBs. Thiersee
rhahgleuhargh
@Thiersee,Did you hide Win 10 required updates before integration, or did you hide them manually with a right clic in WU window ? If yes, how ?I have the same result for x64 test. IE 11 KB3021952 5.2 MB still asked after installation. But we can remove KB3032359. Thiersee
Manuall, after integration.I didn't integrate KB3032359 at all. At the moment no test on real HW, my 2nd PC is ready to delivery to my brother in Italy; I've to buy now a new motherbiard... rhahgleuhargh
Some updates have been placed in "Additional Updates" folder (5 prerequites for Windows 10 migration), but they are still marked by WU as important : you'll have to hide them manually if you don't want them. A part of IE 11 KB3021952 (5.2 MB in x64 configuration) is asked by WU after first reboot, I have no solution for this.

abbodi1406
Regarding KB3021952: The 5.2/3.0 MB is KB3023607, it's bundled with both updates same status as last month

rhahgleuhargh
@X-Force,I usaually keep in the "deleted" section supersesed KBs in case of a M$ bug, so it's easier to reverse if needed.. rhahgleuhargh
A suivre ! Edited April 21, 2015 by rhahgleuhargh
