[14 janvier 2020] Update list GDR pour Windows 7 SP1 x86/x64 (Fr-En-De-Es-It)

 Not sure if this was intentional but I (actually NTLite) found a duplicate update in your list.

The "2-Windows6.1-KB3004375-v3-x64" update is located in "Common Convenience Rollup and Classic integration Updates" AND "Classic integration Updates (Professional, Ultimate, and Enterprise Editions ONLY)" categories.

Im running Professional Edition, so I integrate either way. If it is truly Pro and higher only then some may not need.

Hello,

Yes, it was intentional. It was too complicated to create an other category for Convenience Rollup integration only for 1 update (with this integration method, only KB3004375 is needed with Professional Edition, not the 2 others), so I placed it 2 times.

I'll upload new ULs this evening, good news that this forum works again!

Changelog : KB4048957 replaces KB4041681 and KB3181988 ; new version of KB2952664 v13 (Telemetry Updates).

@pennsylvaniaron

KB4049016 wasn't asked in my configurations. Prbably due to the fact I use DNF4.7.1 too.

Oh yes, I managed to find this thread again!
I used this list with WUD 2 years ago to create a custom WIN7 (eng) iso. :)
This should be sticked in the international part too!

Now I'll use the list again to update the OS with the new patches, avoiding all MS crap.
Thank you for still maintaining it!

P.s: is the script "Hide Win10kbs" still needed?

Hello, yes it is. Otherwise telemetry updates will be installed at next WU round.

Thank you, but is the telemetry list updated? (at least until April)
It contains only 5 patches, but elsewhere I found more entries.

Also, do you plan to update the main list this December?

And question:
can WUD detect already-installed patches?

@phaolo

I'm not sure if all components of telemetry are blocked, since security quality monthly rollup contains some telemetry scripts. But required updates to make telemetry working are not installed if you use the script. Some other telemetry updates non included in Simplix Update Pack are not included in ULs. But remind that on a live system,if a blocked KB is updated, even if masked by the script, it will be proposed by WU, so you'll have to rehide it manually.

If you want a 100% clean update (but to my opinion I really doubt that it is possible), you can use Simplix Update Pack, or a program such as Spybot antibeacon  (I use it with Windows 10).

No, WUD can't detect already installed patches, it just downloads a list of updates via M$ servers.

Damn, that's an important info.
I guess that I'll have to use SUP, even if I would have preferred to get the good patches directly from MS and clean the monthly rollups with some guide.

in this case, don't forget to reapply updated Simplix pack each month with the view to disable updated scripts from Monthly cumulative update... a little bit complicated !

I think that the simplest solution is to block the link between telemetry services and M$ servers (Spybot or other telemetry blocker programs).

Hello,

One tweak that saves a reboot: Open Windows Update. It freezes. Close Windows Update with Task Manager. Open a CMD prompt. Stop WinUp Service (net stop wuauserv). Start WinUp Service (net start wuauserv). Open Windows Update. This time the Windows Update box shows. Set settings to “Never check…). Click OK. Click Check for Updates. Reset to your default Windows Update settings. Note that when you reset the settings, Windows Update will run a new update scan. (grrrr)

Oh well, I've decided to use the original files.
I already have patches till 2015\12, so I'll just download the new hotfixes according to Simplix's list.

I can't use the "Monthly Rollup" due to the telemetry, however, so I'm going to get all the "Security Only" patches (from 2016\04).
Incredibly, MS has a convenient site for this: https://portal.msrc.microsoft.com/en-US/security-guidance

Btw, do you know if Netframe and IE (cumulative) patches contain crap too?

@phaolo

.Net updates don't contain any telemetry crap. I don't think IE is concerned (I don't use it).

Don't be so worry about telemetry, since you don't install the ones excluded, telemetry doesn't work. I'm pretty sure that your phone OS and/or apps contain more telemetry crap than windows !

Probably, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't try to avoid it whenever it's possible, expecially on a computer.
I don't use IE since decades too, but I'd prefer to patch it anyway, since  it's part of the OS (sadly).
Anyway, thanks for the info.

Eh, the problem is that I don't trust very much a pack assembled by some random guy..

It's scrutinized, if something harmful was inside, we would know. Based on your level of paranoia, I think you should ditch Windows and install a GNU/Linux instead.

J'ai suivi les instructions d'arrêt et redémarrage de WU : OK !

Merci !

I'll probably have to at a certain point, but it's a PITA that I try to postpone as much as possible.
It's good that you check every release of the pack, though.

I don't, actually I only used it twice,  but there is a thread on MDL about the pack, and most of the users are of the paranoid kind, so if something was added it would be noticed.
