namednoob Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Hi, I've been trying out WinToolKit and even when I select to remove literally everything but the red marked options I am still left out with a 6GB + OS, is it possible to slim down a windows 7 ultimate using WTK alone to around 3GB or less? I need it down to this much because I have to install it on multiple VM's with 10GB HD and from those 10G it will eat 6GB for the applications it will run and I am accounting 1GB free just in case so basically: 6GB app3GB OS1GB free There no paging on it either. Etz Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Yes you can, but that OS would be pretty much useless and non-functional as a result... Quote
namednoob Posted July 2, 2014 Author Posted July 2, 2014 (edited) That's not true, there is a windows 7 called windows tiny 7(not sure if its a wintoolkit made or what) which is around 2GB installed (the ISO is 700MB) and it works just fine unhappily I don't have a copy of it but I've seen it working. I don't need most of the programs that comes with windows or drivers and the only stuff I will really need which I would add to it are dot net 4.5.2 and some vc++ runtimes and internet access. But from what I've seen with WTK alone I can't make it smaller so if you guys could point on way of what I need in other to achieve that I would appreciate. Edited July 2, 2014 by namednoob Quote
ianymaty Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Google for "Windows Tiny7 Rev01" there is a Facebook page that lists the process to obtain it. Probably you'll not get the exactly same size but that will give you some hints. Quote
