Absolute Zero Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 (edited) Hello, I'm new to this Forum. I've purchased Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Plus (German language, Volume Licence Copy, likely used) from a software store just a few hours ago. I couldn't download it's ISO file here: Download Earlier Versions of Office because this site is for regular Office editions (Home & Student, Home & Business, Professional) only. So I tried to download the ISO file by using heidoc's Windows ISO Downloader. But there too, I couldn't find any selection option for "Professional Plus" and right now, I'm stuck solely with the licence key, which is useless without an installation image... Plz help! Jan Krohn Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 The download tool uses MS TechBench as a source to generate the links. TechBench generally only carries downloads for retail licenses, not volume licenses. I could re-enable Office 2010 Pro Plus in the downloader --- if I had a suitable product key to integrate, however, that would still not help you with your volume license. I'm pretty much out of ideas. You could ask in the Office forum. Maybe someone there has a good idea. Quote

As far as I know, the "Professional Plus" edition of Office 2010 ships only as volume licences... (or are there exceptions?) Quote
Jan Krohn Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 I'm pretty sure that the Techbench Download is for Office 2010 Professional Plus Academic, which is a retail version ("Ultimate Steal" offer it was called back then). Developer licenses(Technet, MSDN. BizSpark etc.) are technically also retail versions, although they were never intended to enter circulation. Still, a lot of keys sold on eBay used to originate from TechNet labeled as "used software". I'd still like to add Office 2010 Pro Plus back to the downloader, however, without suitable key, that's not possible. Quote
Absolute Zero Posted September 16, 2017 Author Posted September 16, 2017 (edited) I have the key... (but it is likely used, albeit maybe still valid*) * = I've not used it yet - I received it just yesterday... AZ Edited September 16, 2017 by Absolute Zero Quote
Jan Krohn Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 Does your key work on this site? https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/office If so, please let me know where you bought it. I might be interested in obtaining one as well. Quote

I might be interested in obtaining one as well. The link You gave is exactly the same one like the one I gave in my starting post - like I said, that is only for regular editions of Office, not special editions (like "Professional Plus") exclusively confined to volume licences, MSDN licences or other "special" licence models... I already tried my key on that site - the message said, it's "either not valid or not supported on this site"... I guess, the latter one applies. The site, where I purchased this key, doesn't even offer official Microsoft installation files (like "X16-32180.iso" or "X16-32254.exe") - instead they gave me a DL link to some site, where I downloaded a zip-File and when I unpacked it, I couldn't believe it: there is not a single installation EXE or ISO, but a whole bunch of folders (each folder for one Office program - one for Word, one for Excel, one for Outlook, and so on), an autorun.inf file, a README.htm and a Setup.exe - the latter one is the "Microsoft Setup Bootstrapper". If I double-click it, the O2010 installation setup initiates... It seems like, they just unpacked the contents of the installation disc and "offering" it as such - I was shocked. Definitely not professional - and not the kind of "installation media" I would accept. That's why I am searching for *official* installation files right now... Jan Krohn Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 If the key doesn't work on the official download site, it will not do any good integrating it to the download tool. It would just generate the same error message. Luckily, I made a dump of most hashes before the X16/X17 downloads were taken offline. So you will be able to tell whether any file you might find elsewhere is genuine or not. https://www.heidoc.net/joomla/technology-science/microsoft/18-office-2010-direct-download-links https://www.heidoc.net/joomla/technology-science/microsoft/78-digital-river-download-files-md5-checksums German versions: x86 w/o SP1 X16-32254.exe b0fc811e9d3a1a659b159676c9b695c x86 w/ SP1 X17-75245.exe 9298562ff07dd34fb798e21ddc20dd80 x64 w/o SP1 X16-32217.exe 2bdea35777fc509efe6b1b306dd528 x64 w/ SP1 X17-75375.exe (unknown hash) x86/x64 w/o SP1 X16-32180.iso a47f89394a3eed0b9bb98a4bc641627 x86/x64 w/ SP1 X17-81954.iso (unknown hash) Quote
