roscoetanner Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 I downloaded the Windows 7 Home Premium COEM ISO and burned it to a DVD. I ran it on an HP 2000-329WM and it got bogged down during installation at 1% or so. Finally I got an error message that the files were not complete and could not be installed. Any idea what happened? Quote
mooms Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 Do you have checked the downloaded file against corruption (with SHA1 or similar) ? Do you have checked the blank DVD wasn't scratched before burning ? Do you have verified the DVD after burning it ? Do you have tried with and USSB key ? These steps are needed to be sure it's not the media or install files that are faultly. Quote

I have not tried with a USB but I will. How do I check the file for corruption? Quote

If you downloaded it with the Windows ISO Downloader (heidoc.net) look in the opening program-windows: there is a link to an Hash Archiv; search for your download and compare the hash with that in the archive.
