locksnail Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 The HR Associate forgot the password of employee contact spreadsheet and she ran out of luck for guessing out the password. She says the password is simple. Possible to brute-force it? It is Excel 2010 Quote

Kisseasy Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 (edited) I had the same problem with my computer (2007 Excel). But it doesn't matter, since Excel password can be cracked. With the help of it: https://www.iseepassword.com/open-a-password-protected-excel-file.html Edited February 25, 2019 by Kisseasy Quote
SnowBall Posted February 25, 2019 Posted February 25, 2019 Don't run the program... Excel files (xlsx) is actually a zip archive. Simply extract the file and edit out the password. Depending on how you've encrypted it and if you are not using Encrypt with Password, then it should be all fine. If you still can't crack the password, sent it to me and I might give it a go (only if there is no sensitive info and you don't mind). Regards, SnowBall locksnail 1 Quote
