Posted March 25, 20195 yr Yes! Finally it was made possible! Microsoft was working on a Chromium based Edge browser and it works on Windows 7! I have not yet tested it on older Windows versions but still this is amazing. If you want to use the latest version Microsoft Edge Online Installer, download it from here: https://msedgesetup.azureedge.net/latest/MicrosoftEdgeSetup.exe This setup does not yet work but you can start the installer by using the the command: MicrosoftEdgeSetup.exe /install "appguid={65C35B14-6C1D-4122-AC46-7148CC9D6497}". Download Links: All Versions Currently Available 75.0.107.0 (64 Bit) 75.0.109.0 (64 Bit) 75.0.111.0 (64 Bit) Please note the latest builds of Microsoft Edge are available here, therefore the above links are outdated and removed. How to install: 1. Download Microsoft Edge installer from links above. 2. Extract the ZIP archive. 3. Double click on setup.exe and it will install silently to your AppData folder. 4. Enjoy! March 26, 20195 yr If they will manage to get this one right, I could switch to Edge from Chrome for good. I could also close the Gmail account and have only Outlook for my personal e-mails.
March 26, 20195 yr Author I am using the new Edge on my other computer, much better than UWP Edge. Edited March 26, 20195 yr by SnowBall

March 26, 20195 yr Author Yes, they only changed the string, icon and bingfied Chromium... Not much improvements but it looks pretty good and Microsoft made the right choice on switching to Chromium.

Yeah, I only need that painless synch of passwords, bookmarks and browsing history across devices with the use of Microsoft account, just as I now have with Google, although apart from that I really don't need a Gmail account.
March 26, 20195 yr I wonder if they will keep both versions of Edge in Windows, and mothball UWP Edge like they've done with MSIE.
March 26, 20195 yr Author Probably not, at least the UWP one won't be default browser anymore. Edited March 26, 20195 yr by SnowBall
March 26, 20195 yr Author Sorry for spamming. This is a test post from Microsoft Edge 75.0.109.0... Wincert.net recognize this as: Browser Chrome 75.0.3739.0 I don't know why but this is quite interesting. Again, if this is spamming, you can remove this test post. Regards, SnowBall
March 27, 20195 yr Author Update: Added build 75.0.111.0 (64 Bit) Please note the latest builds of Microsoft Edge are available here, therefore the above link is outdated and removed. Edited November 5, 20195 yr by SnowBall
March 28, 20195 yr I am having trouble installing windows xp 64 so i can't test on it. does it work on xp 64? it don't have 32 bit😡. a tip for microsodt: REMOVE BING AND MAKE GOOGLE DEFAULT! THEY SOULD DISCONTINUE BING!
March 28, 20195 yr Author It doesn't work on Windows XP Professional x64 Edition. The API was not supported. Microsoft will never remove Bing, because Office, Xbox, Windows and Bing are the souls of Microsoft.
March 28, 20195 yr Hahaha, I thought the new logo came from windows 7. that made my day. @SnowBall, do you happen to have any 32 bit releases of edge?

Probably because of the typo in the user agent: user-agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/75.0.3739.0 Safari/537.36 Edg/75.0.111.0

April 8, 20195 yr Author What? OK, I uploaded them. I now have to download them again... I will post hash up later. If you downloaded the files right, extract the archive and you will see a valid digital signature meaning it is original. Yes, the links are 100% safe, I uploaded them. They are 100% original as you can see valid digital signatures signed by Microsoft. April 9, 20195 yr Author Preview officially released! I will upload all of them to MEGA as well (since Canary Channel update daily). Download latest build here: https://www.microsoftedgeinsider.com/en-us/download/

Download latest build here: https://www.microsoftedgeinsider.com/en-us/download/ Yeah, I have received my mail yesterday and have installed it. I have noticed that MEGA versions are not updating automatically. This official build does update My first impression is that it is working faster than the Google Chrome browser, although sync is still not working properly. At home PC I have installed Microsoft Edge and have imported everything from Google Chrome, including passwords, bookmarks, history, etc. Now, I have installed Microsoft Edge at work and I have selected to use it from scratch instead of importing data from Google Chrome. Once I have logged in with my Microsoft account I was able to sync the data from my PC@home, but as I can see Edge has synced my bookmarks and history from home PC, but not the passwords. Maybe I did something wrong or it just could be an early beta issue. So far I really like it
April 9, 20195 yr Author I am uploading them to MEGA now, since the Canary Channel updates daily, it would be hard to grab older builds. I am not uploading the online installer, but the full offline installer... 62 MB each😪.
April 9, 20195 yr Author I am still on 75.0.107.0 but I have to download a new build every day to keep up with the Canary Channel. BTW, the current Dev version is 74.1.96.24 and Can version is 75.0.121.1. Not sure why Microsoft made it like that.
April 10, 20195 yr Author I've finally sorted out all the mess and if you want public versions of Microsoft Edge, to install it on Windows 7 or whatever, PM me.
April 27, 20195 yr SnowBall, do you maybe know how can I change the default search provider which is bing, once I start typing in the URL bar? Thanks!
April 27, 20195 yr Author Easy! Microsoft really want users to use Bing and makes it very hard to switch to Google.
April 28, 20195 yr Thanks, I just can't get used to Bing results, as they appear as crippled Google results. I might try DuckDuckGo again
