ricktendo Posted December 30, 2008 Author Posted December 30, 2008 I think only for some people the search bar looks ok, I think those who have a wide screen monitor and a high resolutionAnd no I asked Rafael (Alky for Applications creator) if he could fix this he said no Quote
yadzil Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Hi Rick...I think I found the reason why the alky wont install properly...When i use this addon with RVM Integrator noted that new file (SVCPACK.INF,HIVESFT.INF) being created in integration main folder.I compare the inf file from old sidebar addon version and the latest version there is different in [EditFile] section...old:[EditFile]I386\SVCPACK.INF,SetupHotfixesToRun,AddProgramsI386\HIVESFT.INF,AddReg,AddFontsI386\HIVESFT.INF,Strings,AddStringsnew :[EditFile]SVCPACK.INF,SetupHotfixesToRun,AddProgramsHIVESFT.INF,AddReg,AddFontsHIVESFT.INF,Strings,AddStringsdoes this is the cause that alky not properly install? Quote
ricktendo Posted December 30, 2008 Author Posted December 30, 2008 I did not say it was compatible with the integrator, thats why i removed the work addon from the filename Quote
olejosef Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Hi, i finally got around and managed to install the sidebar and put in the desktop wallpaper. Now, i remember last time i had this gadget installed, it displayed some nice looking wallpapers (probably from the internet, because i didnt have those). The desktop wallpaper i downloaded have a few, but far away from the amount and quality i had before, so i am wondering how to get hold of more online wallpapers and how to use them with the desktop wallpaper. I am not sure if i should be asking this question here, but i'll give it a go anyway! Quote

alanfox Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 any command line switches for the sidebar.inf? Would like to make an automated, silent install. This works, but I get the prompts:rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 0 .\sidebar.inf Quote
ricktendo Posted January 15, 2009 Author Posted January 15, 2009 It is already a addon so its best if you integrate itIf you dont want to be prompted remove the following from sidebar.infLine #6202BeginPrompt =BeginInsPromptLine #6213EndPrompt =EndInsPromptUse this to launch the infrundll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection sidebar.inf,Install Quote
alanfox Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Thank you, that is exactly what I needed. I have a script that I use to conditionally install software after an XP build. Needed this information for the sidebar addon so the script would complete all it's install before rebooting. I also found that removingLine #6214CODESmartReboot =Aaddressed the sidebar install reboot. Thanks again. I really appreciated your help. Quote
