Jean M Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 Hi, I tried to download Windows 10 1909 (October 2019) ISO using Windows ISO Downloader, but the download link there is broken, gives me a "404 not found" error. Just reporting, hope that you guys fix it Quote
Jan Krohn Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 Thanks! I got a 400 bad request error earlier today, so I assumed that MS was in the process of uploading the files. Obviously, I was mistaken. But they've been on MSDN for maybe two weeks now, so they should be available to the public soon. Quote
erpster9 Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 (edited) is it November 12th in your area, Jan Krohn? because it is not (at least not yet in the USA) MS could post the 1909 ISOs most likely during their normal patch Tuesday schedule (11/12 pacific standard time on their watch, not yours nor mine) Edited November 12, 2019 by erpster9 Quote
jvidal Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 let's wait until tomorrow (12) and see if it becomes available... Quote
jvidal Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 well,, now it's the 12th and the links for v1909 still don't work. Quote
jvidal Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 (edited) wait, there's something wrong. The downloaded files, although called "win10 1909" contain version 18362.418 (19h1), according to the file [1].xml inside install.wim. this doesn't add up. it should be version 18363.xxx (19h2) edit: after installing, the about dialog says "Windows version 1909 (OS Build 18363.418)" Edited November 12, 2019 by jvidal Quote

Because of the common baseline, even after installing Windows 10, version 1909, individual system file versions will still appear as 18362. Edited November 12, 2019 by erpster9 Quote
jvidal Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 (edited) yeah, after installing I noticed that I had the correct build (1909 build 18363.418). I also read somewhere that 1903 updates also apply to 1909, is that right? Edit: It seems they do. I updated from 18363.418 to 18363.449 using KB4522355 Edited November 12, 2019 by jvidal Quote

Quote What's new for Windows 10, version 1909 and Windows 10, version 1903 release notes Windows 10, versions 1903 and 1909 share a common core operating system and an identical set of system files. As a result, the new features in Windows 10, version 1909 were included in the recent monthly quality update for Windows 10, version 1903 (released October 8, 2019), but are currently in a dormant state. These new features will remain dormant until they are turned on using an enablement package, which is a small, quick-to-install “master switch” that simply activates the Windows 10, version 1909 features. To reflect this change, the release notes for Windows 10, version 1903 and Windows 10, version 1909 will share an update history page. Each release page will contain a list of addressed issues for both 1903 and 1909 versions. Note that the 1909 version will always contain the fixes for 1903; however, 1903 will not contain the fixes for 1909. This page will provide you with the build numbers for both 1909 and 1903 versions so that it will be easier for support to assist you if you encounter issues. Quote
