Ricknj Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 Hi all! I see quite a few Vostro Win 7 64 bit install ISO files but none are specific to the 3500. Are any interchangeable or do I have to go with a Microsoft version? Thanks! Quote
Ricknj Posted March 16, 2020 Author Posted March 16, 2020 Sure, it's 3k8j9n1 Dell Vostro 3500 Thanks! Quote
shhnedo Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 Just download clean windows 7 sp1 x64 image, simplix it and install it. On Dell's website there aren't all that many drivers for windows 7: https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/servicetag/0-NzVmWG5PRnRDT01aQzFJSVNxUHJUZz090/drivers The diagnostics and firmware/bios stuff you don't really need. Jan Krohn Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 It's likely too old to have ever received its OS image by download. I'm not able to find anything, not even with the service tag. So you could either do as shhnedo suggested and use a clean image, or use another one of the Vostro 35xx images. Interestingly, there seem to be two different images for these models, so there might be some try-and-error involved to find the correct one for you. Quote
