Hi there, I would like to know how you generate links to versions of Windows. I found https://www.heidoc.net/php/isounlockv6.php?productEditionId=4&languageId=FQC-03908&luminati=1 this php file on your server which is used to generate Windows 7 links. If possible, would you be able to tell me how this works or send me the source code? If you don't want to share it here, you may just direct message me. If you don't want to share it, that is fine, but please let me know. I hope you have a great day!

Hi,

The file won't help you generate any Windows 7 downloads as it uses a database of product keys on my server.

What you need is the following API call:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/api/controls/contentinclude/html?pageId=cfa9e580-a81e-4a4b-a846-7b21bf4e2e5b&host=www.microsoft.com&segments=software-download%2cwindows7&query=&action=GetProductDownloadLinksBySku&key=<product key>&sessionId=<session id>&skuId=<sku (language)>&sdVersion=2

The session id comes from the Microsoft downloads site.

The SKUs can be found in many places, for example on Github: TechBench dump (https://github.com/techbench-dump) · GitHub

The SKU needs to match the product key in order for the API to work.

Looks like they have taken down the Windows 7 Download page. Are the files still on their servers?

I'm seeing that now... That's not good. We'll see on August 1st. Office 2010 has been gone for a long time, but the API just kept working, so all hope is not lost yet.

Yes, an example of the API working for Office 2010 earlier this year is when I successfully downloaded Office 2010 on the Windows 7 Download Page. When did they take down the office 2010 page anyway?

I don't know exactly. At some point I realized it was gone. But as you said, the API kept working.

Well, the last successful archive of the Office download page is from October 12, 2020, which probably means they took it down after end of support since the November 1 snapshot gives 404. http://web.archive.org/web/20201012053334/microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/office  http://web.archive.org/web/20201101053706/microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/office. Meanwhile, Windows 7 was still up until at least July 18. I checked on July 21 and it was down already. http://web.archive.org/web/20210718031019/http://microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows7.

Luckily, I was able to generate links and download many versions of Windows 7 and Office 2010 earlier this year using your tool. If the downloads are taken down, I guess you will have to remove them in your next update.

it depends on what edition of Win7 you are installing
what edition are you installing? Home Premium, Professional or Ultimate
yes OEM keys also work when running Win7 setup but again it depends on the edition

I am unable to download this?

you're too late - MS had removed the Win7 ISO downloads earlier this August; can't download the W7 ISOs from MS anymore
saw this in another forum

If you go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows7 (where the ability to download an ISO should be), you get redirected to the EOL for Windows 7 screen. MSDN doesn't work either.
