FeLiX Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 Hello All,I must say this a fantastic addon! I had been looking for just such a solution for IE7 and SP3 and its great my week or so of looking as finally paid off. Thankyou for making these addon's available - they are a great credit to the author!I do have one question - is there a tool like RUN_Automatic_OnePiece_IE7_v2.2.0_Own_AddOn_Creator that can be used to add all of your chosen post SP3 hotfixes into a single addon package? If there isn't - i would like to request it perhaps from the author of these great tools.Anyway thanks again!Cheers,FeLiX Quote
kontini Posted June 28, 2008 Author Posted June 28, 2008 There is no reason to add other hotfixes because it's always included last cumulative update in the addon and it overwrites the previous one. Quote

kontini Posted June 29, 2008 Author Posted June 29, 2008 Oh, man. It is not so simple to make the update pack creator that you want to, also because of all hotfixes aren't standard.Enjoy the readymade update packs, manual-created packs are better than automatic-created ones.Let's stop talking OT. kontini Posted August 29, 2008 Author Posted August 29, 2008 (edited) OnePiece checked ClassIDs present in ie7.addreg (and in Vista, this is the reason because unpresent entries in IE7 update.inf were added) so he removed them in ie.inf.And what you wrote "cosmetic" version is correct "6,0,2900,5512" because that is OS version and not IE version.Your work was amazing too and OnePiece and I like your iepid and probably it will be added in next addon's versions.OnePiece and kontini Edited August 29, 2008 by kontini Quote
Kal Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Hi OnePiece & kontini,Thanks for the answer. First, I just discovered that my iepid.exe is completely useless. See my post. Anyway, I know that some CLSID are overrided by IE7 update.inf, like these ones :; ActiveSetup Microsoft Internet Explorer v4.0 RegistrationHKLM,"Software\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\{89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-00AA005B4383}",,,"%ASETUP_BASE_DESC%"HKLM,"Software\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\{89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-00AA005B4383}","ComponentID",,"BASEIE40_W2K"HKLM,"Software\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\{89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-00AA005B4383}","IsInstalled",0x00010001,1,0,0,0HKLM,"Software\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\{89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-00AA005B4383}","Locale",,"%ASETUP_LOCALE%"HKLM,"Software\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\{89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-00AA005B4383}","StubPath",0x00020000,"%SystemRoot%\system32\ie4uinit.exe"HKLM,"Software\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\{89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-00AA005B4383}","Version",,"6,0,2900,5512"So no problem for these. But, for those that I posted above, they are not overrided! So if we don't include them in our ie.inf, they're gone. Example, in ie.inf, CLSID_USP10 = {3bf42070-b3b1-11d1-b5c5-0000f8051515}. Search for this CLSID in IE7 update.inf and you won't find anything.About "cosmetic", they're not Windows version. Windows XP SP3 version is : 5.1.2600. You can launch a cmd session to get it. IE6 version is 6,0,2900,5512, and IE7 is 7,0,5730,0 or 7,0,5730,13 (need to check further). And IE4Shell_ID should be IE4Shell_NT, or if you have a reason for using IE4Shell_ID I would appreciate to know it.Cheers and regards,Kal Quote
