thecourageouscat
:questionmark: Hi Kelsenellenelvian and Happy New Year! One thing I've noticed is that on the official Java website "http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/?intcmp=1281" yesterday was the update 4 but was like impossible to download! Today they put back the old version 3! Any idea about that and how did you get your? Do you think that if we install your downloaded one something wrong could happen? Thanks to let us now and all the best from Zagreb, Hrvatska. The Courageous Cat.
Kelsenellenelvian
I have heard it is simply due to server overload from auto-update. But I dunno for sure.I have Just update 4 on my main and laptop (Im anal about being updated) and run limewire and a couple of other java related apps and no issues yet. Personally i consider it good and safe. BUT If you guys feel the neew I will rebuild 3 for you and upload it.
thecourageouscat
Hi Kelsenellenelvian, thanks for your reply. Leave the update 4 as it is, we'll see if bugs happen but I'm still wondering why Sun reversed to update 3 on their website????? By the way I haven't seen a new DirectX 9 update yet, strange!Take care and all the best, the courageous cat

TacticEspionage
so do i just integrate this with nlite... isn't it supposed to be a .cab or .7z file... pleaser help i'm a coplete noob
Kelsenellenelvian
QUOTE from the sticky section! To add silent installers in as hotfixes in nlite you copy the following code into notepad and fill in the blanks. Then save as entries_****.ini (Make the **** into the progs name to prevent double file errors)[general]BuildDate = Description = Language = Title = Version =Website = [EditFile]I386\SVCPACK.INF,SetupHotfixesToRun,AddProgram[AddProgram]Program.exe <---- [b]Place the installers name here![/b]Then add the installer into a folder called svcpack in the same directory as the .ini file and rar, zip, 7z or cab them. then simply add as an hotfix in nLite...As for the RVM integrator it now takes switchless installers just as they are. thedexmonster
Hello, I was just wondering (if you know) why after installing java via your addon, a file named java_install_reg.log is created in my %temp% folder and says:-----------------------------------------Process start at 04/03/2008-09:56:07.-----------------------------------------== Start JNICALL Java_com_sun_deploy_util_UpdateCheck_shouldPromptForAutoCheck ==-----------------------------------------Process start at 04/04/2008-10:32:27.-----------------------------------------== Start JNICALL Java_com_sun_deploy_util_UpdateCheck_shouldPromptForAutoCheck ==-----------------------------------------I have not used Java for at least a couple of days. So, I don't think it's just when it's accessed that it adds to this log.?Also, after installing, If you open java from the control panel auto update is still checked. If you un check it, it asks you if you're sure as if it was really checked before. I just thought it was weird because auto update is turned off in the registry right?I'm using Java 6 update 5. Kelsenellenelvian
Ummm the Auto-update and the whole update tab should simply be missing... They aren't even supposed to show.
