LUZR4LIFE Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Ok, I am having a issue with a unattended install. I think it is because of a issue with the user name, full name and computer name having certain requirements (not being close in naming) but not sure. The unattended is broken here:Here are my Nlite screenshots:What is the Computer Name associated with that prevents me from using BORNLUZR as the Computer Name?THANK YOU. STimm81023 Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 (edited) I have had same problem and never figured out what was wrong. If you find out how to fix it, let me know also. Edited January 2, 2008 by STimm81023 Quote
George Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Try to not use same name for Computername and User Name. Usualy when you loggin as administrator actualy you login with the Computer Name. Probably this is wrong.P.S. excuse my bad english (if write incorrect words). Quote
Kelsenellenelvian Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 I have a better idea post your winnt.sif file that nlite creates (Remove your key) and lets see it that way. Quote
Mr_Smartepants Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 I had a similar problem. I just replaced the computer name, workgroup, and organization with an asterisk '*'.No problems, but no customization either. Quote
LUZR4LIFE Posted January 8, 2008 Author Posted January 8, 2008 Thanks everyone, I know it has to be a conflict with the names. I will try and do more testing to determine what is conflicting. I know I can use the same names during a manual install. And Mr_Smartepantsbut no customization either. What do you mean? Quote
Mr_Smartepants Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Well, if you use *, XP just places default values for those sections. So your computer name would end up like "DH380GHS0E" or some other gibberish. That's all. Quote
