Mozilla Thunderbird Nebula 137.0. Silent Arabic / English

The Mozilla Thunderbird 137 open-source email, calendar, address book, chat, and news client has been released with various changes and several bug fixes to improve existing functionality.

Thunderbird 137 doesn’t introduce any new features apart from a splash screen to encourage users to donate to help keep Thunderbird’s development alive. However, it disables the system tray icon on Linux systems until it gains functionality and adds support for using file names when storing mail folders on Windows systems.

Among the bugs fixed, this release addresses an issue with in-app notifications failing to display correctly when using the high contrast mode, fixes missing edit menu entries when selecting the group header in the “Grouped by sort” view, and fixes an issue with the “Undelete” function for IMAP folders performing “Delete” when mixed messages were selected.

Thunderbird 137 also fixes RSS feeds to let users use the space bar to scroll the message like it does in emails, fixes a performance issue when opening an .eml file in a profile that contains many folders, and improves the Threaded search view to update correctly when the results are sorted by date.

On top of that, the new Thunderbird release addresses an issue with IRC channels not being visible after a restart, fixes an issue causing forwarded messages as attachments to use the wrong MIME type, patches a crash that occurred when searching during shutdown, and fixes an issue causing importing of OpenPGP public keys to fail if they contained whitespaces.

Other issues fixed in Thunderbird 137 include a problem where users were unable to open attached signed OpenPGP .eml messages, message security panel strings being used in the wrong places, saved message list selection being discarded when the user made a new selection, and replying from local or unified folders failing when the message pane was hidden.

Starting with this release, it is also now possible to crosspost news articles if newsgroups are on different servers. Some visual and UX improvements have been added as well in Mozilla Thunderbird 137, along with other bug and security fixes.
