can it be a *.res or a file replacement that can cause this ?

Great job, but I found a few items missing.

There's a missing resource for sysdm.cpl (bmp 8, took from xpsp2res.dll).

There's a missing resource for themeui.dll (bmp 8886, took from shell32)

All the bmps in timedate.cpl have Russian text.

Also, I miss the animated vista'ish file copy/delete etc.

Incoming Newb question..........where are the ".avi" files supposed to be placed....I've extracted and looked in "Extra, Programs & Resources"

Any idea why they were removed?.....just curious.

1. i don't think U're using Tablet PC or Windows 2003

well it depends, are you using xptsp normaly or r u passign it thru something else?cause its supposed to work perfectly.im using ricks mce addon and when patching it with xptsp after results are good.

umm i cant say the resources i have right now are reflecting the problems you mention. avis havint ben changed for a while the timedate.cpl is all in usa,i cant see any missing sysdm.cpl & themeui.dll bitmaps at all.

you have to open a .res file that contains avi object and replace the matching avis with a resource editing program like resource hacker included in the programms folder.

download ResourceHacker:

Open the following files from the Resources folder with ResourceHacker:

msieftp.dll.res, setupapi.dll.res, shell32.dll.res, wiadefui.dll.res

look for AVI on the left pane

now you can change or build a new resource file

All the bmps in timedate.cpl have Russian text.

Sorry, my comments above were in relation to the 'Blue' resources amnesia posted earlier.

They do not apply to the current 'green/yellow' XPtsp (which works perfectly).

Sorry for the confusion.
