I was looking on the net for something and found this. Is there any chance we could get something like this for the boot screen?

Also, I was looking through the control panel applets and saw this:

Isn't there supposed to be a graphic on the left-side? The other tab looks correct....

argh more updates, ill do one last update ..maybe this week.

dougie i think ure right, there is something wrong with the speech tab, im completely missing the tab in ure screenie.

also super duper work on the live patching,ill try to have a test run in a VM.

amnesia thx for all those updates!

and about that nice bootscreen, i have no idea what the win 7 boot looks like but im thinking of maybe including it in the win 7 version of xptsp thta i will work on.

Bober: I did some research and realized something.... The boot screen image I posted is 24-bit. The logo needs to be 16-color. Reducing the image to 16 colors yields something very UGLY! So replacing the bootscreen with this is not realistic. Bummer.... :thumbsdown_anim: :crying_anim02:

JBE: I like some of the other screenies, but they are all contaminated by the "Microsoft Vista Ultimate Edition" wording.... Even if they weren't, I still couldn't use them for the boot screen. Now, the logon screen, sure! But not the boot screen.

Everybody: During my testing, the boot screen resource files got moved/deleted. I forgot to re-include the boot screen resource files in the package, so the boot screen won't be patched through the GUI yet. Next version, definitely!

dougie,i just de cabbed an un-modifyed version of sapi.cpl(speech) and i did not find any other tab in it.i dunno where this speech recognition is coming from.

yeah thx for the explanation.cause i remember seeing it a while back but and i was wondering if my mind was playing tricks on me.

Just tested the modified SAPI.CPL and it fixes the problem. Thanks!

EDIT: One question, is it going to appear properly for systems without that "Microsoft English (U.S.) V6.1 Recognizer" from Office 2003 installed? Just wondering....

the dialog-tab appears only when Speech Recognition installed... :o

now how can i add these resources to the XPtsp.v1.1 pack ? can i use reshacker ? is there an automated way to do it or do i have to replace everything by hand ??

U can open XPtsp.v1.1 (batch) with WinRar, open Resources folder there and add your updated .res files

and if U want to update your live system:

U can extract Extra, Programs, Resources folders and batches from "VISO Live 2.7" to a new folder. in "Resources" replace .res files with your updated ones. run 1Copy.bat

I just don't understand why he used the text "Starting Windows Vista" instead of "Starting Windows..."

thanks for a fast reply mate but the _ResourcesBlueYellow folder contains folders with the actual bmps/icons/avi not the .res files. (do you have these in .res format)

i am looking for a way to replace these files in the .res files , if you get what i mean ? without having to edit every file by hand, replace every icon/avi/bmp ??

there is 600 files to edit each by manual will take a long time i will do it but was wondering if theres an easier way ?

or is there a blue pack (.res) allready made ? because it seems quite finished ?

no, i don't have them in .res form... but, i'll do it for U, it's only 89 .res files to update :blink: , U know ;)

oh another update already thanks amnesia i will add it to the pack now :), things are looking really nice with this blue version now

1 big thing i found is the default folders are still green ? can i get an updated shell32.res with the blue versions of the default folders, the blue my docs, vids, music look awesome tho :) i will report other bugs if you are interested but i dont want to bother you to much, but thanks a lot for your help B)
