heffalump
I went and reformatted the computer and this time installed official MCE from the two CDs (I have a purchased copy of MCE 2005) and this time the USB infra red receiver was recognised and added during setup. So this means there must be some driver file/s missing from your addon? Because it works fine from official MCE CDs but not from this addon + MSDN XP SP3 source. My source CDs are legal purchased ones, not nLited in any way. heffalump
Hi sorry for the delayed response. The actual missing file was this one: kbd106.dllI don't know if any others are missing but that's the first one that appears. I tried to redownload and execute that hotfix mentioned above but it said the version I have is newer and would not go any further. Here is my nLite config. I took out all languages and keyboards except United Kingdom. I added silent installers for dotnet 1.1 and dotnet 2.0 into the svcpack afterwards.[Main]Env = 1.4.9.1 - 2.0.50727.1433.Microsoft Windows NT 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3Target = Windows XP Professional (Media Center v4.0) SP3 - BillyB
I'm using Orbit's MCE AddOn but would like to give Rick's one a go instead. I've tried to install your MCE 2005 AddOn a few times, but each time it completes the Windows install (less than 15 mins!) but there is no Media Centre links (there is an ehome folder in the Windows directory but manually launching ehshell.exe fails?).Details:MSDN XP SP3 (en_windows_xp_professional_with_service_pack_3_x86_cd_vl_x14-73974)nLite 1.4.9.1AddOn: OnePiece_Microsoft.NET_Framework_v1.1.4322.2407_True_AddOn.ENU.CABAddOn: Ricks_XP_to_MCE05_en.7zAm I missing something fundamental? :confused02: Can someone recommend a silent .NET 1.1 instead (include a link please!) MrNxDmX
@ BillyB: On first post its noted that, do not use OnePiece_Microsoft.NET_Framework_v1.1.4322.2407_True_AddOn.ENU.CAB. Please find a svcpack addon for it, i'm sure your problem will be solved SP3 installer updates ZERO Media Center files on a real install...now if somebody wants to supply me with a msdn integrated media center disk (i have legit serial) then I could maybe make the addon with those filesOtherwise this only has Update Roolup 2 and the other updates I listWindows XP SP3 doesnot support media center 2005. If you look in file versions, they are smaller than MCE 2005 versions. It only updates mce 2004, which this addon not built with. Xavior Penguin
I used your Addon with my Media Center Edition 2005 CDs and it works awesome! However, during the T-13 stage, I get the screenshot listed below. I have always said Yes to the answer and it installs just fine, I can verify that the Rollup 2 was installed through the About section of Media Center. Why would I be getting this error?I used the RyanVM Integrator 1.5.3 to add this addon and nLite to do some unattended setup and a bootable ISO. I am testing this in VMWare.^^If that does not work, try this, it is the same file but in PNG format:^^http://www.mediafire.com/?wknjznmuym2Thank you! Xavior Penguin
i think the problem is the RVM intergatorSo you mean to tell me that the RVM Integrator is causing that issue? Sounds crazy to me but ok?On that now, how would I use nLite with this pack then? Does it work properly with being an addon with nLite? etc etcOther than that quote, it works but comes up with that issue.Sorry if I seem a little rash, I am just a little frustrated on this as I have been working with this for about a week now and I am very n00bish at this. ricktendo
BillyB for some reason OnePiece's true addon does not work with the media center, try a svcpack .net 1.1 sp1 or a .net aioXavior Penguin this addon is not compatible with the integrator only nLiteare you sure its the Media Center addon causing that error? In the progress bar it does not say Meida Center 2005, it could be another addon thats not compatible with nLiteBTW this addon is only for XP Pro not XP MCE
