Thats Why i Need this informaton. If you're using MCE, there is a way to slipstream Service Pack 3 and not downgrade the Media Center application. I'll try and dig up the link for you. The only noticeable difference between MCE SP2 and MCE SP3 (besides the service pack) is that the new SP3 disc you create has WMP 9, and not WMP 10.Edit: Found the link. looks like there are a few minor issues I forgot about..Link Edited May 14, 2009 by Palmtree Quote
Jatin Beniwal Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Thanks Palmtree for info. But after a lot of addon and updates it size goes over 700 mb but i want to maintain it under 700 mb to fit on a standard CD Rom. Quote

AndreyPopov Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 (edited) I think its at least 64 MB video cardo or maybe a 128 MB one not sureMCE requriments is 32Mb DX9. if MCE not found 32Mb DX9 then DVD item in menu disabled!but MCE can work on ALL cards. messgae "video card not compatible" before starting mce can be removed by mce customizer 2005 for example. MellowRebel Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 I know this might seem stupid to some but where do I insert this into my nlite unattended dvd. Is it the same folder as a regular Windows MCE DVD ? And do I use nlite to do it ? If there is more to this I would really appreciate it. This is my first attempt at this other than working on projects for WPI in XP Vsta and Win 7 RC. Thanks I resally learn alot from guys like you. Quote
ricktendo Posted June 6, 2009 Author Posted June 6, 2009 This is for regular XP not MCE and you add it same as you would a hotfix Quote

stsaerox Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 The addon is working great but but every time i need to integrate a new addon, media center is failing to work until I find the right integration order. What should I do to understand the right integration order? I understand only that it can be interated after windows updates, WMP11 and IE8. If I have to integrate other program addon's what I should check every time?I think that's one of the biggest problems... Can anyone help? Quote

Mr_Smartepants Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 That's a lot of addons to do in one shot. I would leave out Rick's MCE addon, then test in VM to make sure everything else works. Then add Rick's MCE addon in a separate session, then test again.BTW, the sidebar addon got updated a while ago. Quote
ajeeth1291 Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Hi everyone..and thanks Rick for the great addon. Works perfectly :thumbsup_anim: I was wondering if it is possible to modify the installation files so that the entry in boot.ini is "Windows XP Media Center Edition" instead of "Microsoft Windows XP Professional" just like an installation from an original media center source. If possible will somebody please explain how??Thanks again.. Quote

If possible will somebody please explain how??You need to edit the SMSS.exe in the i386\system32 folder of your setup cd. Use ResHacker, and save the String table out as an .rc file, you can then edit it with notepad or whatever, and reimport into the exe with reshacker with replace resource. I don't think you can make that adjustment within the addon. Rick would know better than me. Quote
