This might not look good but remember it's only a Alpha really. Also when Apple announced 300 new features 6 of them where screensavers and some were not features of Apple's just claims and I quote "Fastest Browser in the World". Get real Apple your Apple is the second slowest based of Sunspider Tests I did on my computers.

From what I've heard so far. Windows 7 will be one very good OS. But no matter, we'll still have to wait for a lot of vendors to aquire new and updated drivers..

Good news from the front on that one, for a piece of hardware to receive a Vista Compatible logo Microsoft insists (has made compulsory) that it has to run on Windows 7, this new policy has been in effect for a few months now.

sounds good.

lets see what else they put in...

and i bet computer specs have to be high! 2GB RAM for vista.... could be 3 or even 4GB RAM for Windows 7

btw is there a beta out??? (for windows 7)

Beta - December Q4 2008 - Q1 2009

Release Candidate - Q2 2009 - Q3 2009

RTM - Q4 2009 - Q1 2010

Hope that answers your question.

Snake - The reqiurements are going to be the same or less. This has been stated many time in MS articles.

They are going with a modular system. The install footprint is MUCH smaller (I have the early beta) but I personally think the Superbar sucks right now it needs polished...

First off hard drive usage, Vista used to take up around 20GB, Windows 7 takes up around 10GB. I believe the other specs won't be as high due to all the fine tuning and optimization that has gone on.

I like all functions of Windows Vista prepared, but i am in shock that something like Windows 7 prepared- Device Stage, Superbar, JUMPLISTS, Core and Kernel optimizations and other "fun"..Like i said, i am happy with Vista(ok taking many resources, but you should know, Win7 is based on Vista Core (6.1) and for those optimizations, which MS maded is for better User Experience, not for the flight-performance* ) and Windows , but MS give more better OS, if they know what WE(users) needed- I saw in Windows 7 site "Over the past few years, you've asked us to make some changes to Windows. We listened closely. Now it's time to share an early look at how we've used your feedback. Windows 7 is faster, more reliable, and makes it easier to do what you want....." And yes, they were listened CLOSELY!
