Newer motherboards have SMART overclocking, in the means of percentage overclocking feature where you're automatically overclocking cpu, memory etc..

Check what's available in your BIOS

Overclocking is good.

But.

You need to take in that when you overclock your CPU Temp. it will go up depending on how much you have overclocked it.

there are many factors involved in overclocking. main thing is how high can you go but still have stability

there is a lot of information to sift through, so i'd first suggest gathering all the info about your system. what processor it uses, type of ram, the type of motherboard etc

from there you might be able to narrow it down more by searching 'how do i overclock x processor" where x is whatever one you might have

i can tell you though if you have a computer from a major manufacturer like hp or dell then you are out of luck. they disable more advanced bios options and you are pretty much stuck with what you got

yes, you won't notice anything with such a small overclock. most people only do it for gaming but in general every day use it does not really serve much of a purpose
