Make a list (text file) of features by using something like this, then look at it side by side with "Turn Windows features on or off" dialog box to see what you want unchecked by default:

dism /image:\mount /get-features >%UserProfile%\Desktop\Features.txt

features.png

Try putting your favorites in

Users\Default\Favorites\

Wallpaper you can do it with autounattend.xml but im yet to make that video (not like that will be included)

Hi Rick

Thanks to the videos I could understand many things that previously could not understand. I've been able to integrate drivers, updates and a few of tweaks. Really what I want to make is to create a windows that allows me to choose the installation of some programs such as Photoshop, winrar, Pinnacle, ultraiso. Could you tell me where to read or find a tutorial about that, where can I see some examples. I'm using W7x64

Thanks in advance

If you talk about patches again there will be repercussions (1st and only warning)

Hello ricktendo64

First let me thank you for all the help you give me in the past, it seems that you applied the repercussions that you mentioned in your last post, I feel it really was not my intention to hurt anybody, but there is no bad word what the word is misunderstood (sorry my English)(No hay palabra mal dicha sino mal interpretada). I used the word that caused the trouble because I was referring specifically to Pinnacle Studio, the version that bought is version 9.0 and when I do the update on the web side of Pinnacle they use the word P...., in the same way that Microsoft uses. Anyway I go to apologize to you and this great forum. Ah the repercussions also helped me because I had to read a lot to make an application to integrate windows. Thanks for your great help, I'm sure not will be the last.

You said you wanted to install software plus patches, I took that as cracks

BTW what you want it call Windows Post Install Wizard

So I did not know how to explain. Now, let me ask a question, I've been learning WPI, I have put several programs (winrar, UISO, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, Office and Pinnacle) I made an ISO file and test it using VM, all work well but the ISO file has around 6GB as I do to split it into two DVD and this one work, could you guidance. Thanks in advance

If you have a second hard drive you dont have to add wpi to your DVD or USB drive if you dont have the space, you can do like me and leave it on your D:\ drive and when setupcomplete.cmd executes (I use autounattend.xml to call mine) it will surely find it on any backup/secondary drive you put it on

Hello rick

I've been reading about tweaks, WPI and XML, and now I understand everything much better. but of course I still have many doubts. I used a USB driver as you told me to put the WPI, and work well but I could not fully automate the installation of programs that have S/N, so I have to do it manually, Could you told how to add the S/N automatically, Some programs ask me by the S/N at the beginning of the installation and others after the installationn. Thanks in advance.

"WRONG the WPI in the USB driver no working for me" . :ranting:

Hello Rick, I am a bit new at creating Win Vista and Win 7 unattended ISO. I got pretty proficient at XP installs with nLite. Anyways these are great videos, however I don't get how to merge part 3 together. Could you shed a little light on this, pleeeeease? Thanks a bunch.

ricktendo64, I have some questions and requests concerned with your videos:

  1. I notice you are including many drivers (>100). Why so many? Do they include drivers that are already present?
  2. I also notice you have many Windows Updates (>100). I did a WUD on W7 and found very few (dozen or so). Again, why so many?
  3. I noticed a nice icon for 7-Zip split files but I cannot find it anywhere. Can you either tell us where to find it or post a copy here?
  4. Would you be willing to post your tweaks in .inf form here? I would like very much to see them.

Thanks for your great work. Enjoy, John.

1- I have a main PC and a laptop and that is ALL the drivers (that can be integrated) for both those machines, they include drivers that are already present but mine are more up to date

2- I used the (not up to date) updatepack from George King that contained ALL the updates since the release of Windows 7 (not just the critical ones from Microsoft Updtae) but now I use SoLoR's list that is now up to over 275 updates

3- 7zsplit icon is in the updated 7zip splitter you can find here and downloaded here (I did however have to extract the icon and create a 32 bit version of that same icon so that it can be viewed in Windows 7)

4- Tweaks.inf is nothing much really

ricktendo64, thanks for your reply. I understand the first two and the last, but on the split icon I am still puzzled. I actually found the site you referred to but in English. None of DLs that I tried contained the icon I am looking for. It is the one, I think, for the .001, .002, etc files after splitting. It looks like the one I attach, but split diagonally. I have another question - I am running XP x64 (based on 2003, version 5.2.3790, like 2003). Can I run your procedure under it? I have installed WAIK (W7) with no problems. I do not currently own a copy of W7 and am waiting till some of the tools (RT 7 Lite, etc) settle down, but would like to be prepared. Thanks for your help. Enjoy, John.

OK, ricktendo64, thanks. I was able to extract the icon from the DL. The reason I did not get it over the last few days is that the Splitter module that is DLed on the English site does not contain this version of the icon. Thanks, John.
