LUZR4LIFE Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 OK, I decided to do a RAID 0. This is my 1st RAID setup. On my mobo I have the option to RAID SATA's 1-4 and also 5-6. I can not do just 5-6 without the 1-4 so I have 2 160G as my OS etc. (SATA's 1 and 2). My SATA 3 is for my burner and the SATA 45 for id for my eSATA.My question is, Why does my burner/eSATA come up as RAID? I did nothing with those when I RAIDed my HDD's. Should I worry about it?Any input would be appreciated.THANKS Quote
NIM Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Your CD burner shouldn't be seen in RAID configuration. Really strange. But, no matter that, I wouldn't use RAID 0 since you don't have any redundancy. So, if one disk fails, you will loose all of your data. Also, you won't get much performance improvement, maybe 12-16% tops. Quote

Or should I just go back to non RAID? Quote
