crashfly Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 I thought about making an offer for the laptop from Mr_Smartepants, however since he lives in the UK .... well ... the shipping charges would be a little much to the US. So .... nevermind. Quote
Mr_Smartepants Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Actually since I work for the US military but live in the UK I still maintain an APO box at the local base. Very handy for saving $$ in shipping from Amazon/Newegg. PM me.Holy Cow Lego! That's a beast! That beats my primary tower system! What chipset does that have? If it's an Intel z68 then you can enable RAID caching between the SSD/HDD. Quote

sirtex Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 I hope you didn't pay full price for that HP; last news report I read is that HP is pulling out of the PC business!Plus, I would not ever recommend an HP with out an in-house computer geek; their Indian tech support is awful. I spent 4 hours one day getting them to admit their FireWire connection stinks, & 3 hours to admit to tweak their OS install you had to buy another retail Win7 copy. Very poor customer service. Quote
Legolash2o Posted September 8, 2011 Author Posted September 8, 2011 (edited) eBay (new condition), it's spec is perfect for me. My old laptop was HP and served me very very well and i am the in-house computer geek with 12 years experience. Never used FireWire.P.S. The first thing i'm going to do is format and do a fresh install, i hate software which comes with computers!!!!!!!The spec of this newer laptop is more powerful then the one i bought originally for only $30 more Edited September 8, 2011 by Legolash2o Quote

ricktendo Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 I've seen i3 laptops go for <$400 USD...The thing is I have to go for the cheapest option, first it was try to fix it myself, then the next was send it to shop, now next in line is get a new mobo Quote
Legolash2o Posted September 9, 2011 Author Posted September 9, 2011 (edited) for me its different, i would of first tried to fix it myself and then by a new mobo, shops can be expensive and just add to the cost.I recently about a month ago buy a new mobo for my old laptop, but for some reason it ran really really got and the graphics card no longer works, so i have to return it to china for a replacement. Once i receive the replacement i will put it back together and will end up with 2 laptops (one for backup).I needed a new laptop because i will be moving to university next Friday, which also means i won't be able to release a new version because i won't have an internet connection for a couple of weeks but luckily i have a bunch of error logs to fix whilst i have no connection Edited September 9, 2011 by Legolash2o Quote
