I really hope you stick with Windows 7 for a bit longer. So far, I think you have the best tool out "in the wild".

You gotta start planning for the future, especially when it comes to a new name...Windows Metro Toolkit

You also gotta start learning how to make the metro gui for your app (I saw how they did this in the keynote it was pretty cool)

Windows 7 Toolkit should work on Win7 and Win8, although i probably will have to rename it lol. I saw the keynotes.... not planning on making it metro friendly lol.

I like the idea of faster boot times, but I'm not willing to shell out another $100 for it.

I think the faster boot times are primarily due to the use of a hybrid hibernation mode as the normal shutdown mode.
