Hi, on my Win XP machine logged into the domain (Win2K8 R2 Server) I'm trying to connect to a network printer. when I browse to the printer and double-click, I get the following message:

"You do not have sufficient access to your computer to connect to the selected printer"

Any help would be apprecieated.

Thanks

Check this setting in local security policy:

  • Click Start, point to Programs, click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Local Security Policy.
  • Double-click Local Policies.
  • Double-click Security Options.
  • In the right pane, double-click Prevent users from installing printer drivers.
  • Check if the setting is set to Disabled.
  • Close the Local Security Settings window.

If this setting is Enabled, then you won't be able to install printer drivers if you don't have Administrative permissions.
