zavan Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 OK. I removed anything had to do with IIS mplah mplah plus .net 3.5 Now that I am trying to install it it says "You must use "Turn Windows Features on or off" in the control panel to install or configure Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1".Help? P.S. Yes I need the damn thing .net 4 will not save me. Quote
Legolash2o Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 For some reason IIS also removes .NET Framework 3, don't ask me why ask Microsoft. Quote
zavan Posted November 7, 2011 Author Posted November 7, 2011 Yes I know! I did all this in purpose. I thought that if I remove all the IIS **** and also remove the .net 3.5, after the winblows installation I could simply install the removed .net 3.5 manualy without IIS.But it doesn't let me. I was looking forward for a workaround on that any thoughts? Quote
bphlpt Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 For Win 7, .NET 2.0, 3.0, and 3.5 are now an intrinsic part of the OS, not separate like in XP. So I don't know if there is any way to add them back in. There is not even an .msu install file available for any of them as there is for .NET 4. And that's the method used to install .NET 4.Cheers and Regards Quote
zavan Posted November 8, 2011 Author Posted November 8, 2011 Lovely. So no way to get rid of IIS .... even on home premium. Quote
Legolash2o Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Yeah it annoys me too, so for v1.4.0 i might use a vlite way of removing IIS so that we can keep .NET 3.5 Quote
