For some reason every single one of the slim and or repacks of net framework and visual basics packages you have available are being reported as malware/trojan. Any clue why this is?

I assumed so. I just wanted to know why so I can report it to them with as much detail as possible. Thanks for the reply.

I'm getting an error with latest version.  Installer says 4.5.2.

Error during execution "netfx_full_ldr_x64.msi /qb!".  The system cannot find the file specified.

Hi ricktendo,

thanks for your effort.

Unfortunately I get 2 errors when running the file (dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64_Slim.exe /y).

"C:\WINDOWS\System32\msiexec.exe" /i "%TEMP%\7ZipSfx.000\netfx_core_x86.msi" /update "%TEMP%\7ZipSfx.000\KB2468871-v2-x86.msp" /qb!"C:\WINDOWS\System32\msiexec.exe" /i "%TEMP%\7ZipSfx.000\netfx_extended_x86.msi" /update "%TEMP%\7ZipSfx.000\KB2468871-v2-x86.msp" /qb!

However KB2468871-v2-x86.msp does not exist in the package.

Is a forced reboot at the end of the install expected behaviour?

Because that's what happens on XP x64 when using the /ain or /aif switches.

Using the /y switch brings up a dialogue box asking if you want to reboot now.

Off Topic:

This installer just celebrated its 4th birthday and I am surprised it is still going, I don't know why but people download 4.0 more than twice the times over (the 3 year old) 4.5/4.5.1/4.6 build.

For some reason they still prefer this. Is it because people are still on XP, or are they still using 4.0 on Windows 6x (Vista+) when there is a much better alternative?
