Hi Legolash2o,

First, thanks for your tools!

I'm new to Win7 Toolkit, but i already have a request/suggestion:

Can you add/keep the correct foreign names of the different Win7 edition ?

I explain: i have made a Aio (x86/x64) DVD, and all the names are in English (my Win7 is in French)

I had followed this tuto earlier:

http://forums.overcl....php?t=18040679

and all edition had the name in French.

Because an image is better than words, here what i mean:

W7T behavior:

Expected behavior:

111207033349344773.png

Regards.

I see with W7T the image info is changed and two lines are removed :

With imagex.exe /info

Could you keep those two lines to have the display name and description for the localized version?

Thanks

PS: Sorry, it's not the right request topic! Thanks to move it.

When using the AIO tool does it change all your french names to english, you can probably just use WIM Manager to rename them back if it does.

Can you please open the install.wim with 7zip and send me the 1.xml file within it (with the original french please)

Thanks.

<FLAGS>Starter</FLAGS>
<HARDLINKBYTES>2962941616</HARDLINKBYTES>
<DISPLAYNAME>Windows 7 Édition Starter</DISPLAYNAME>
<DISPLAYDESCRIPTION>Windows 7 Édition Starter</DISPLAYDESCRIPTION>

The french only appears on the DisplayName and DisplayDescription, W7T use <Name> and <Description> and shouldn't effect the french translations, hmmm...

My WIM file does not even have the displayname or displaydescription section.

EDIT: Can you please go to WIM Manager, rename an image and description to anything and then attach the new 1.xml please.

I don't think it's imagex.exe, but W7T. Because when I use Imagex.exe /info all informations are displayed (also Displayname and Displaydescription)...But W7T display only Name and Description on the window and we can change Name and Description.

However I used a new time WIM Manager for my Windows 7 AIO and changed Name and Description with French language.

You can try imagex.exe /info with a clean install.wim image to see the result with your English version!

Here is the [1].xml file and we can see there is only Name and Description changed! And same result using imagex.exe /info after all images are merged...Displayname and Displaydescription are removed.

1.xml

OK, i've made a few changes.

*W7T will show displayname and displaydescription if available

*If the above are available then W7T will set name and description as them.

EDIT: Screenshots provided below, please note i only tested with Starter edition

EDIT2: I've done the best i can with this thread/issue, closing thread.
