sonnet Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 I ran the tool on a partition different than C:\ and I have as a system w7 64bit .What I did was downloading the AIO , decompress and running into the folder where I extracted it.I'm using an image of window 7 64bit sp1 .I chosed to remove many things which use lot of space (natural language, slim down winsxs).I tested on a vm and the installed size (with no hibernation/swap) changed from 7.7gb to 6.8gb.So although it changed, it was supposed to be even slimmer. So I'd like to know if the tool need waik (and which version?) to remove effectively the listed components and if I need to run the application from a particular folder/partition. Legolash2o Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 v1.4.0 will have some more work with removing components Quote
sonnet Posted January 13, 2012 Author Posted January 13, 2012 (edited) So the answer is that I don't need to install dism or run w7T from a particular location with the current 1.3b2 you released , is that right? Edited January 13, 2012 by sonnet Quote
Legolash2o Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 (edited) you need to install DISM if you are on XP/Vista, but they are available to download separately here. You need to make sure they are in the system32 folder although W7T will pick up WAIK if it is installed. Edited January 13, 2012 by Legolash2o Quote
