ricktendo Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Hey lego, I dont know if pnputil should be something you add for the setup part of the toolkit, but it is definitely something you should add for the online image. You have a msu/cab installer for online images why not have a driver installer/lister/remover too using pnputil Quote
Legolash2o Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 This feature is half way completed, will probably finish it off tomorrow. Quote
oguz Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 This feature is half way completed, will probably finish it off tomorrow. It can be interesting and nice feature Can we say that we will have a new version tomorrow? Quote
ricktendo Posted March 10, 2012 Author Posted March 10, 2012 Will you also be implementing pnputil driver uninstaller? When I update my drivers I always use this to remove the old one, right after I scan for the oem inf number with -e (-f is used to force uninstall in cases where the driver is in use/installed)pnputil -d [-f] oem#.inf Quote
Legolash2o Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 (edited) It currently does not have a feature to view currently installed drivers, i could two tab pages (New and Installed) which will allow you to remove any driver in the lists. Potentially this can also be done to Update Installers.Depends on what you think about that idea?EDIT 1: Just added this feature to Update Installer, looks nice and a lot easier to implement than i thought.EDIT 2: It works great too.EDIT 3: Done Drivers, closing thread again... ricktendo Posted March 10, 2012 Author Posted March 10, 2012 How are you using -f (Force)? Will it be used by default or will you add a checkbox? Quote
Legolash2o Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 by default, why would you like an option? There's no harm in doing it by force all the time. Quote
ricktendo Posted March 10, 2012 Author Posted March 10, 2012 Not doing it by force may prevent you from mistakenly deleting a driver that is "in use"...Its like a "are you sure you want to delete this no matter what" choice Quote
Legolash2o Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 OK, i've added the option for Normal and Force, this request is finished (again ) Quote
ricktendo Posted March 11, 2012 Author Posted March 11, 2012 Gr8, now its idiot proofAnd one more suggestion You should add a checkbox to the installer so that you have the option to only add the driver [-a] and not install it [-i -a]Make the default action -i -a just have the option to turn off -iThis for when you dont have the hardware or its not connected Quote
