RicaNeaga Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 (edited) Windows update cabs were also in red... and they shouldn't.In the end, maybe this red/green bars visual-only feature isn't very useful, considering those red bars can scare people away, and it has nothing with W7T, since DISM alone may be to blame. However, I do have one curiosity. My habit before W7T forced me to do otherwise was to always integrate IE9 msu the last... I used to rename it, by putting a ''z'' letter in front. Can you please send me Legolash a beta build without that always-install-first-IE9-msu feature? I'm curious to see if the red bar applies again to IE9... Edited March 29, 2012 by RicaNeaga Quote
Legolash2o Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 The red bar thing for IE9 is normal, i was expecting that! I haven't added the proper detection code for it, to be honest i think im gonna get rid of the red/green bar thing Quote
compstuff Posted March 29, 2012 Author Posted March 29, 2012 I edited my above response to RicaNeaga since I think I may have been confusingAn update it needed must of been installed then Quote
compstuff Posted March 29, 2012 Author Posted March 29, 2012 WAIT :-) I think it is really helpful... remember I had asked for a log to help determine what did and didn't install because I could never easily figure out the failed differences but this has certainly helped. The red bar thing for IE9 is normal, i was expecting that! I haven't added the proper detection code for it, to be honest i think im gonna get rid of the red/green bar thing Quote
Legolash2o Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 The strange thing is i'm installing my updates in alphabetical order and they all seem to be going green So ordering them by KB may be the solution Quote
Legolash2o Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Update: After installing all updates in alphabetical order, i integrated 336 and at the end 339 was integrated with nothing red I'm going to test integrating everything in descending order and see what happens Quote

Legolash2o Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 I did say that IE9 integrate WILL go red all the time no matter what, even if it integrates However i've fixed that and just fixed a massive bug Quote
compstuff Posted March 29, 2012 Author Posted March 29, 2012 I wasn't worried about the red but it clearly shows not integrated on the "CPG" image so I am downloading a new one for the client and will test it tonight also...I did say that IE9 integrate WILL go red all the time no matter what, even if it integrates However i've fixed that and just fixed a massive bug Quote
RicaNeaga Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Used version 4 of 1.4.0 and the IE9 msu red bar is gone, I decided to move those other msu's to the switchless installer folder, so they'll be run at first logon. However, the cabs SoLoR specifically made for DISM are beeing integrated by DISM, but W7T is adding a red bar to them, instead of a green one. You can find them here. Please fix this for next update. Quote
compstuff Posted March 30, 2012 Author Posted March 30, 2012 Wow I'm not sure whats going on with my images... I just used a new download from my clients E-Open and did my 2 step test... IE9 and the HF worked... but when I selected the 336 updates the same red ones from above showed up... I am at a loss to understand why. Quote

compstuff Posted March 31, 2012 Author Posted March 31, 2012 Sorry for the delay I was also away after I wrote that post...e-open is just MS licensing model for enterprise customers... same thing as Volume License https://www.microsoft.com/licensing/servicecenter/default.aspxHere is the screenshot which is from the previous post but the same errors I just got http://clip2net.com/s/1KzEdClearly their seems to be some difference between my Technet image and the image MS has available for the customer... I am running more tests now and will report backCan you give the link to that post with the screenshots, I'm not at my computer right now.P.S. what's e-open? Quote
