Windows 10 has a lot of issues with each version released. Some of these issues are usually fixed in later versions, but sometimes you can temporarily fix some issues by yourself.
Recently I have noticed that Start Menu of Windows 10 stopped working and I couldn’t use the Search function anymore. The Start Menu was only showing black Start Screen as in the screenshot below.
Just like in many scenarios, one good restart will fix this problem, but you can also fix it without restarting your machine.
For a start, close all Windows Explorer windows (right-click on Windows Explorer icon and select Close all windows)
Right-click on your taskbar and select Task Manager
Under Processes tab scroll down to Windows processes.
Continue scrolling down until you find the Windows Explorer process. Right-click on the Windows Explorer process and click Restart.
That’s it! Hopefully, your black start screen issue is now solved 🙂
