I’ve just run into an issue when setting up a new out-of-the-box HP Officejet Pro 9010 printer.
Once we have installed printer cartridges and have printed a test page we’ve noticed that the page didn’t print properly as you can see from the attached picture.
After then we had to scan the printed page in order to perform head alignment, but we have received an error message that the document could not be scanned. Once we have connected the printer to Wi-Fi we’ve received the print head problem with event code 62.80.a0
Once I’ve searched for a solution online I’ve come to this topic that did not offer a solution but rather some kind of explanation. Then we have decided to remove the printhead that holds the cartridges. Once you open the front door and then lift the ink cartridge access door you will see the printhead holding the cartridges. On the right of it, there is a white latch that should be pushed up to release the print-head.
Gently pull the printhead from the printer and reinsert it properly. Please have in mind that the printhead should be inserted perfectly and that you can insert it and pull the white latch even though the head is wrongly placed. As we weren’t able to properly insert the printhead back into the printer we have removed all of the cartridges and then managed to place the printhead properly. After installing print cartridges back everything started to work properly.
After we have fixed the issue I have found a solution with steps in pictures on an HP site.
Hopefully, this will help you to solve the HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 printhead problem, event code 62.80.a0
